I created a fitness app that turns workouts into virtual journeys!

A - What is Steptastic?

Steptastic is a fitness challenge app that lets you complete virtual journeys by tracking your real-world activity.

Whether you prefer walking, running, cycling, swimming, or burning calories at the gym, your progress moves you along your chosen route. You can travel solo or compete against friends and family to see who reaches the destination first.

The goal is to make staying active feel a little more rewarding and give you something to work towards.

B - Steptastic is better than general fitness apps since it creates a unique style challenge

The main feature of Steptastic is its virtual fitness challenges, but there's a lot more included.

You can create walking, cycling, swimming, or calorie-based challenges, making it suitable for different types of exercise rather than just counting steps.

Group Challenges let you compete with friends and family by racing around virtual routes together, while daily tasks encourage healthy habits beyond simply exercising.

The app also includes activity goals with analytics so you can track your progress over time, maintain streaks by consistently hitting your targets, and unlock badges by reaching fitness milestones and achievements.

I built it because I found it much easier to stay motivated when I was working towards something instead of just looking at a step count.

C - Cost

Steptastic is free to download, with an optional Plus upgrade.

7 day free trial, then $0.99/week, $2.99/month, $12.99/year, or one-time lifetime purchase of $19.99

This helps to support continued development while unlocking additional features and improvements.

I'd love to hear any feedback or feature ideas, and I'm happy to answer any questions about how it works!

I made an app that forces you to complete exercise before unlocking your apps!

A - What is Focused Fitness?

Focused Fitness is an app blocker that forces you to prove you've completed physical activity before unlocking your selected apps.

Simply choose which apps you want to limit, set your daily allowance, and once you reach that limit, those apps will be blocked until you complete your chosen exercise. You can choose from push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, steps, and more.

The goal is to make mindless scrolling a conscious decision while helping you build healthier habits at the same time.

B - Focused Fitness is better than PushScroll, one sec

Most app blockers can be bypassed with a couple of taps or by simply ignoring the reminder.

Focused Fitness requires real movement before you regain access to your apps. No workout means no scrolling.

The app also includes progress tracking so you can see your completed reps, screen time earned, and app usage over time, as well as Sleep Mode and Wind Down features that automatically block selected apps during the evening.

I originally built it after seeing apps like Pushscroll and Opal and wanted something that worked for me while also being more affordable. It also became a great project to add to my portfolio while studying software engineering and hoping to work in iOS development after university.

Focused Fitness is better than push scroll because it is 1/6x the price, and no subscription, just a one time optional payment.

C - Cost

Focused Fitness is free to download, with an optional Pro upgrade ($5) which grants you additional blocks and unlock methods.

I'd love to hear any feedback or feature ideas, and I'm happy to answer any questions about how it works!

While commuting, I always slept through my train's stop, so I built an app that fixes this and more!

A - What is Easy Wake?

Easy Wake is a smart alarm app that is highly customisable to your needs, wether its waking up in a light sleep stage (real time detection), waking up at sunrise, setting alarms when you arrive at a location, being forces to complete physical or mental challenges to turn off your alarm, Easy Wake has you covered.

B - Easy Wake is better than Alarmy, Sleep Cycle and the default iOS Alarm app.

Easy Wake has a wide range of challenges to choose from which prevent you from turning off the alarm unless you're fully awake, such as maths, physically walk away from your bed, barcode scanning, memory and more. No matter what you try, you won't be able to stop the alarm without completing the challenge!

Easy Wake also uses dynamic sleep stage detection using your Apple Watch, and will wake you up in a light sleep stage. You can also use Pulse Wake to nudge your body into a lighter sleep stage if you're a deep sleeper!

Easy Wake has the default alarm ability, with lots more customisation options, for example, you can connect your Home app and alarms can trigger Home Scenes.

C - Cost

3 day free trial, then Monthly $2.99, Yearly $19.99, or Lifetime $29.99.

Pro gives you unlimited schedules, Pulse Wake, all Challenge Wakes, Location Alarms, Custom Sounds, Intelligent Insights, Smart Sleep, HomeKit Integration, Wake Check, Sunrise Alarms, and Shortcuts access (custom alarms based on your automations)

Pro isn't necessary, but it allows more lee way, and most features are available for free anyway! It also helps to support me and future development of the app.

Hi,

I've developed an app called Easy Wake that requires you to complete a challenge to turn off your alarm! The challenge can be physical (walk away from your bed), or mental (memory/letter scramble)

Another main function of this app is that it wakes you up in a light sleep stage to help prevent you from feeling tired and groggy in the mornings using your movement and heart rate!

I started to develop this app several months ago because I realised I struggled getting out of bed every day. So I decided I would make something that would pretty much force me out of bed, and it actually works!

I hope people find this as useful as I do, and there’s currently a 50% off lifetime pro for the next 48h!

Hey r/Apple,

I just want to share an app I’ve been working on for the past few months as a student called Focused Fitness. The idea behind it is simple - you earn screen time by completing a quick body weight exercise, such as push-ups, squats, jumping jacks, or steps!

How it works:

  • Select apps which you want to limit
  • When you reach your daily limit, the app will be blocked
  • You will then be asked to complete your selected exercise

Why i built Focused Fitness:

I saw pushscroll, and opal, and wanted something cheaper, and decided I would challenge myself and make something that worked for me (a little TOO well). It also would be another app I could add to my portfolio since half-way through my software engineering degree, and wanting to go into iOS engineering after university.

Key features:

  • 🔒 App blocking tied to real movement
  • ⚡ Quick exercises — no gym, no long routines
  • 📊 Progress tracking (reps, screen time earned, app usage)
  • 🌙 Sleep mode & wind-down (automatically block apps at night)
  • 🧠 Designed to build discipline, not overwhelm you

Who did I build it for?

  • Students, like me
  • Anyone cutting down on certain apps
  • Myself, for my portfolio
  • People committed to become fitter

Pricing:

The price for the lifetime pro is set to $1 for the next 5 days, and will then increase to $5. I set it to $1 because Apple has been warning developers for messing with App Store ratings, and trying to pay users to leave reviews. The $1 also helps me to stay motivated and keep working on making the app better!

It’s been surprisingly effective for me, and you become way more aware of how often you reach for your phone. No workout = no scrolling.

If this sounds interesting, I’d love some feedback since Focused Fitness was only released days ago!

Happy to answer any questions or hear feature ideas!

Thanks!
