Suggestion for Pimax EVO: Adjustable Binocular Overlap
I have a suggestion for Pimax EVO (or even the sboy3 driver) that I think quite a few people might appreciate, especially Micro OLED headset users.
It would be great to have the option to freely reduce the binocular overlap to save performance. Right now, we don't have a driver-level solution for this, which means we can't do it in some games. For OpenXR titles, we can currently achieve it with various OpenXR Toolkit mods.
Personally, I don't notice a 20% reduction in binocular overlap on the left and right at all. The FOV stays the same, but in every game I've tested, it gives me an extra 14–20 FPS. Thanks to this, Assetto Corsa EVO and Project Motor Racing have become playable for me at relatively high settings. Without cropping any fov or butchering any other settings...
Since you already plan to add vertical FOV cropping, maybe you could include this feature as well. In my opinion, the Dream Air and Super OLED have unnecessarily high binocular overlap, especially for sim racing. As I said, I don't even notice a 20% reduction on the left and right....but I notice the performance improvement immediately. Maybe anyone else with intrest in this?
