Applying for Youth Allowance - Will I be ineligible if I earned too much but it was months ago?
Hi, so I’m currently applying for the Youth Allowance payment. I’m 22 and meet all the criteria, however when it asked me to upload my payslips and how much I earn each fortnight, I am a bit worried here.
Basically, I work two casual jobs, one of them I earn about $800 per fortnight (consistently), and the other I haven’t worked in over a month and don’t expect to get much more work there anytime soon. However, I worked a lot during the last month and earned about $1,000. So when I’m putting my fortnightly “income” in, I have $800 and $1,000, even though the last paid date for the $1,000 was 20th April (one month ago). Whereas the $800 I received from the more consistent employer a week ago.
I’m worried that Centrelink will think I earn $1,800 a fortnight and decline my claim? Or will they see the dates and understand I more often earn just the $800 a fortnight?
Please let me know as I’d like to know what to expect in about 6 weeks time when they assess the claim.
