Anyone else in Montreal get the yellow election cards like this today?
Curious if this happened at any other Canada Post depots in Montreal today.
The yellow election cards had already been pushed back because the bilingual information on them needed to be changed. Now, on basically the last day for us to get these delivered before Monday’s election, ours showed up as a big unsorted stack, completely separated from our sequenced mail.
Normally these would be sequenced with the rest of the mail. Going through the entire stack and manually sorting every card into the proper routes and points of call obviously takes a lot of extra time, so understandably a lot of carriers were frustrated and chose not to do it.
I personally decided to take the time to sort mine and deliver them because, election aside, I want to make sure everyone on my route has the information and a fair chance to vote.
But I’m not going to lie, I find the whole situation a bit sketchy, especially considering the timing.
For the love of god, can we PLEASE get tap to pay on our scanners?
It’s 2026, yet customers still have to manually enter their credit card information when paying at the door. This looks suspicious, wastes time, and creates unnecessary inconvenience when a simple tap would take seconds.
We already accept credit cards and have the necessary scanners. Adding tap to pay would be an obvious modernization that improves both customer service and efficiency.
I’ve been quietly making music in Montreal. Curious what you hear in it
I’ve been quietly making music in Montreal for a while now, mostly just following whatever feels interesting to me and not worrying too much about where it fits.
I’ve been putting out a bunch of new songs lately under Tommy Oliver, and I’d genuinely love to hear what complete strangers think of them. Some of it’s indie/alternative, some of it gets a little weird, and I’m mostly just trying to build my own little world with it.
If anyone feels like giving it a listen, I’d love to know which song catches you the most or what it reminds you of.

Letter Carriers — Curious How My Step Count in Montreal Compares to the Rest of Canada
I’ve always been curious how Montreal letter carrier routes compare to the rest of Canada. Over the last 6 months I’ve averaged 17,650 steps a day, including weekends and days off, with most months averaging around 18–20k. On top of that, all three thirds of my route have Montreal’s lovely outdoor staircases 😂. What are other letter carriers averaging across Canada, and what city are you in? Is this pretty standard for a walking route, or would you be looking to bid onto something a little easier?
