Communes Mailbox Tampering

I am sharing my previous post from other sub about Canada Post mailbox tampering. I am interested get some more insights on what other steps I should take. So here it goes….

Our community mailbox has been tampered with about 2 weeks ago. Some mailbox has been broken into and my box was "superglued" (not able to insert key anymore). I have reported this to Canada Post online with tickets. It's been weeks now and nothing has been done. I called support and the guy I talked to created another ticket but issue remained the same.

I would like to get some inputs from anyone who had this issue. What would you do differently? What else I need to do? Comments are appreciated. TIA

Would Canada Post let me ship this box?

I'm shipping an anime figure to the UK but I couldn't find a box that could fit it. I made my own but before I secure it more I wanted to know if Canada Post would accept a box like this? Anyone do anything similar?

Safe working temp in step vans

Looking to see if anyone has some insight on what is classified as unsafe to continue working.

As any postal work who has driven a step van knows there's no ac and that fan does fuck all to help.

If it's 105 outside it's close to 120 inside where does it become unsafe. Ive asked trainers supervisors and jhas and no one has an answer.

Annual Relief & Sick Relief Positions being merged

Was informed at our depot today that all annual relief and sick relief positions are going to be merged together as per the new contract signing. When asked how this would change what routes we pick to cover (ie. annual relief picks blocks of 4 weeks at a time from the vacation calendar, sick relief chooses daily from the staffing board) no answer was provided and management said they haven’t figured it out yet.

Does anyone have any insight or answers on this will work moving forward? I’m guessing starting from the top they will ask the most senior person if they want to cover a route for a week or choose daily, and then work their way down the list. If so, it’s a much more time-consuming way of doing things as opposed to having two separate relief groups (which leads me to believe there is another reason to doing this that we aren’t aware of yet).

Letter of employment wage got updated - new employee

Hi everyone,

Just a question regarding my letter of employment when doing self-service. Before, it was at 23.81$ and now it got updated to 24.41$ an hour a couple days ago.

I got hired on June 1st, is the difference normal due to the new convention signed? I live in Quebec, or should I speak to HR about it?

Owing money back on short term disability

I got a letter in the mail saying they overpayed me about 750$ on one pay statement during my stdp.

However I was only receiving 70% of my pay. My pay check that pay period was 1200$ much less than my normal period and they’re saying I owe them 750$ from that pay. I don’t understand I was only supposed to get 450$ for two weeks??

I’m so frustrated.

Canada post stop putting our letters into the in-door mail slot

They have stopped doing this for about two weeks now. They used to put our letters into the indoor mail slot. This way, our letters get into our homes. Otherwise, the wind can blow it away, or someone else can steal it. We lived here for 25 years, and it has never been a problem.

For two weeks now, they have just tossed it on our front porch, and that is not really safe. Like people can steal our T4/tax letters, or credit card, debit card, or a lot of personal letters with our identity.

Is this normal?

*update1: The mail slot is 80cm from the floor and very easy to find. I double-check the height, and it's within spec: "Placement Height: The slot must be positioned between 60 cm and 125 cm from the floor"

*update2: turns out, after speaking to a few neighbours, it's a new guy. The regular carrier is probably on vacation. This new guy has been doing it to everyone, and seem like everyone is pretty upset.
