Says Delivered but I didn’t receive my package

Yesterday Canada post and the sender both alerted me that my package was delivered. I live in a condo building and was out when it was delivered, but I came to check about 2 hours later and couldn’t find the package. The receptionist looked through every mailbox today and said she couldn’t find it either.

What do I do in this situation? This has never happened to me before😭

Temp Lc role

I just got a Canada Post Letter Carrier (LC) on-call/temp job in Waterloo and I’m trying to figure out how to balance it with university.

Should I be aiming for:
10 AM+ classes only?
Afternoon classes only?

Parcel never scanned (dropped off in red mailbox)

I dropped off a parcel with ebay expedited shipping in the red mailbox. I don’t like to use it because no acceptance scan but I’ve done it before (including 2 weeks ago and it always scans within 48hrs). This time, I dropped it off thursday night and still no scan! It’s going to Ontario and I’m close to MTL so 5 days is strange. It should be delivered by now. What could be the reason? Could they have skipped friday’s pick up? Or could it be that the label got damaged? I’m worried it might have gotten lost before getting proof that I shipped it. Anyone with similar experience?

Apparently my tracking number doesnt “exist”

Ive been waiting for almost a week now and although I get updates from the sender, Canada Post has done absolutely nothing! When I go to tracking they say the number doesn’t exist even though it does and when I try to call them its just automated AI on the other end telling me to go to their website. Again, on the website its just AI responses that have no clue what to say. This is extremely frustrating and I genuinely cannot find any other way to contact Canada Post about my tracking. I heard that sometimes a package can be delivered without any tracking updates, can anyone confirm that? If there is anyone working there can I please get in touch

Any way to stop previous owners mail?

Hi I have a question, is there any way to communicate to Canada Post that someone no longer lives at my address. I bought my home two and a half years ago but I'm still getting mail for several of the previous owners. Most mail is official government-style mail. I always write return to sender and or moved on it for the mail carrier to pick up but I still get mail for these people.

Counterfeit stamps: worth the fight?

Seeing lots of reports of counterfeit money lately. I believe stamps are an easy target for counterfeiting too.

With the corp bleeding money, I wonder if there's any work done by management to detect or fight counterfeits?

Any estimates on the scope of the problem?

Got hired, next steps

Hi,

As the title says, I got hired. There's going to be a background check which is fine. But also a physical test.

Regarding the physical test, does anyone have any ideas on what it'll contain?

It's for a on-call position.

Thank you :)

Need to send parcel abroad. Does Canada Post allow for me to pay duties for my receiver?

I would like to pay for the duties myself as I do not went the receiver to as it is a gift (non food/electric related)

Can I do this via Canada Post?

Letter mail within Canada - sent back - weighs 15 grams

Hi there,

Wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. Letter mail came back saying I owe another $1.17 which is bizarre as it's mailing to Edmonton. I took a photo of the letter mail on a scale and it's 15 grams, so I'm going to go back to the post office and ask what happened. I ship TCG cards on ebay, so out of 100+ orders I've only had two returns.

Is this to be expected sometimes?

No Postal Code where I live

I've lived in Squamish (about an hour north of Vancouver) for more than 2 decades. Anyone here in a HOUSE has never had house delivery; instead we have to go to our local post office (there are 3 different ones) to get mail from our po box.

Where this is an issue is any company that insists on an actual postal code to verify where you live. The one for the post office doesn't work because it's not for our house. I've just tried switching internet providers and, although their equipment managed to be delivered (via Purolator so it's ironic) but they can't connect us because we don't have a legit postal code (also ironic because they'd be using the same line as our current provider).

I've found a couple of online vendors who won't send to a po box and insist on a postal code so I have things sent to a friend who's 2 blocks north of me. She then has to go pick my shipment up at a location that's farther than my post office.

Anyway, I've assume this is fairly common except for urban areas. I googled it; sounds like maybe not. I'm just curious about others who live with this issue. Also, any thoughts on how to change this since it's been getting worse over the years?

EDIT: Yes, I've typed my address (and the addresses of various other houses) into Canada Post postal code look up. Yes, it fails. There is definitely no postal code here.

Sending a letter to some US Friends for the first time…. Question!

Hi everyone!

Hope you’re all doing well.

Its been awhile since I wrote a letter — but it will be my first time sending a letter to the US, as I have some friends that live there.

I just want to send a letter - thats it , thats all.

I’m unsure on the tariffs and all that going on, if it would be more expensive for me/them to get said letter…. Or if it will just be a breeze and go by without worry?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Take care.

Stay safe!

Have a spectacular day.

Shipping/Delivery on long weekends

Does Canada post do any shipping/delivery over the long weekend?

Situation is: I forgot something important in Saint Albert and am in Calgary now but fly back to Toronto on Tuesday morning. Trying to see if there’s anyway to get my item from Edmonton to Calgary before I leave Tuesday morning or if I’ll just have to get it shipped to Toronto.

Permanent stamp value & oversized lettermail

I need to mail an oversized lettermail packet within Canada. I see on the Canada Post website it says that the cost is $2.61 given it's weight (under 100g).

Am I correct in thinking that a permanent stamp value is $1.24, therefore 2 permanent stamps would not be enough to cover postage?
