Hi everybody! I just dropped a letter in the Canada Post Mailbox. The letter is to be sent to the US. I forgot to add a stamp on it. Will it be sent back to me? Will it be sent back on the day it’s picked up from the mailbox or will it take a few weeks to get back to me? Please give some advice! Thank you!

Since I can't post about it in the official subreddit. I've been trying to ship a collection of non-perishable goodies to a friend of mine down in the states. Some boxes of Kraft Dinner, two bags of chips, a coffee crisp, and a box of smarties candies. Zonos has been holding me up at every step of the way insisting that it's manufactured in the states and that the address I'm actually trying to use to send is wrong. If anybody has any advice or help it'd be much appreciated.

Also why can't I post in the official CanadaPost Subreddit whenever I type "zonos" in? What's wrong with it?

Is there a place in the Employee Portal to download a map of your walking/mobile route?

As a PO4, i encounter this on a daily basis and it's frustrating. You live in an apartment or condo and dont know to put your unit number on correspondence? For real? Customers then come to depot crying why their parcels are returned. Putting a phone number instead of a unit number does not guarantee a phone call from CPC to verify unit. In my depot if it doesn't contain a unit number, it is returned to sender. No questions. No call. With Christmas coming, please have your senders include your unit number that way you receive your packages.

From what I’ve read on here an RSMC OCRE can qualify for EI. I think I’ll hit the required hours sometime in December but is there a way to see how exactly how many hours I’ve worked short of estimating the hours for each route I’ve done? I can’t see anything on MySap about hours worked.

Most full routes I’ve worked are based on 8 hours but I’ve also done a lot of delivery only routes. Was also wondering if training was counted as hours.

I forgot a personal item at a family members house while visiting from the US. Even after selecting return and putting in the HS code 98040045, zonos is still charging a duty for the shipment.

Should I declare it as a gift because its value is below the gift exemption limit. Is this risky? the item is below the gift limit in value but very rare, originally imported from outside the US (not sure the country) and one of a kind.

If anyone else finds it frustrating trying to scroll through the monthly bid using the new online portal, I just realized that there is a way to access the full list: while logged in to "My CUPW Bids", look for two icons that say "Bid Sheet" and "Entry Summary". Click on Entry Summary. You should see a list of actions, one of which says "Bid Posting Created"; on that same line, there should be a link for "Attachments". Click on that, and it will open a new tab with the full list of positions, in a nicely formatted table that can be printed or saved as a PDF. (It took a minute for the document to display in the new tab, but it did show up eventually.)

My class/location has 210 positions currently open (zone-wide restructure), so I am greatly relieved to not have to try to scroll through the very narrow window of the normal bid portal. Perhaps everyone knew about this already, but if you didn't, I hope you find it helpful.

The question came up in an RSMC group about how a strike would affect operations.

Would it include hiring and route transfers? The engineers that come and work on the office cases and layouts in depots during restructures?

Curious if this happened at any other Canada Post depots in Montreal today.
The yellow election cards had already been pushed back because the bilingual information on them needed to be changed. Now, on basically the last day for us to get these delivered before Monday’s election, ours showed up as a big unsorted stack, completely separated from our sequenced mail.
Normally these would be sequenced with the rest of the mail. Going through the entire stack and manually sorting every card into the proper routes and points of call obviously takes a lot of extra time, so understandably a lot of carriers were frustrated and chose not to do it.
I personally decided to take the time to sort mine and deliver them because, election aside, I want to make sure everyone on my route has the information and a fair chance to vote.
But I’m not going to lie, I find the whole situation a bit sketchy, especially considering the timing.

I send letters to friends outside of Canada regularly, and I just realized that I mailed at least one letter today where I forgot to include the country name. (The rest of the address and postage is correct.) *facepalm* Was just in a total rush today. I was wondering what usually happens to mail in a situation like this? Is it most likely going to end up lost, or would it get returned to me? My return address is on the envelope.
