Long-time lurker, first-time builder. Finally finished my Xray X4 '26

After months of reading and learning from you guys, I’ve finally completed my X4 '26 for the 13.5T class. Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the tips and inspiration that made this build possible.

Can’t wait for the first shakedown at the track!

Need gearing advice for Xray X4 '26 (13.5T Blinky) - Complete beginner!

Hi everyone,

I'm completely new to 1/10 touring cars and I'm currently building my first kit, an Xray X4 '26. I'm planning to race in the 13.5T Pro Stock (Blinky) class on asphalt/carpet.

I quickly realized that the kit's stock 110T spur gear is mostly for Modified and won't work for 13.5T. I know the X4 chassis has a strict "total tooth count" limit for the motor slide.

I need to buy a new 64P spur gear and a set of 3 pinions to cover different track layouts, but I'm completely lost on what sizes to get to ensure everything fits physically and keeps the motor temps safe.

Could you recommend a specific Spur Gear size (64P) and 3 Pinion sizes to get me started? I'm looking for:

1 "Neutral" pinion: An all-around gear for medium/club tracks.

1 "Short" pinion: For tight, twisty, and technical tracks.

1 "Long" pinion: For fast, open tracks with long straights.

Also, do I strictly need to buy "narrow" pinions?

Any exact tooth count combinations or brand recommendations would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!
