This is the third platform I’ve worked for. Used to wonder if it was too good to be true. It’s not, especially if you do a good job.

The project I’m on has hundreds of contractors and there are a few, clearly defined issues with onboarding. Instead of having a channel for each, they’ve had us comment on a thread for each issue in one channel, leading to getting spammed with unnecessary notifications every time someone else comments in the thread. When someone comments on the onboarding channel outside of these threads, they keep telling them to just stop commenting, but it isn’t the fault of the contractors, the Slack literally has two channels for hundreds of contractors. I’ve played my part in leading projects elsewhere and, although I’m very grateful for the opportunity, I’m a little bit disappointed with this, to be honest.

I’m from the UK, but will be travelling to Latin America soon. I would like to apply for positions while I’m out there, would that be an issue? I’m already registered with micro1 and have done an initial interview
