To what extent should plastic be avoided?

This came about after reevaluating my plastic cutting board and if I’m eating microplastic when cutting on it, but then went down a rabbit hole of well is everything in my kitchen feeding me microplastics? I use silicon utensils, plastic mix bowls, etc. What harm exists to me if I continue using these items? Or am I just overthinking!

Worth staying in apartment?

I’ve lived in my current apartment for a year now, there has been a german roach problem on and off which I was treating with advion gel, and my landlord was spraying for it weekly for a bit.

Recently I went on vacation for two weeks, pet sitter was here leaving empty cat food packets in the trash. In hindsight, I should have asked her to change the trash and thats on me. When I came back home, my trash can was fully infested with german roaches and it’s been a nightmare. My landlord has been ignoring me for several days and refuses to respond to me. On our last correspondence, he claimed I am the only person in the building complaining of german roaches and he has refuses getting an exterminator on multiple occasions. I literally cannot get into contact with him now ever since I told him about the trash can.

I read up on the group and get alpine wsg and gentrol discs, and continuing to bait with advion. Its day three since spraying alpine and its worked wonders, I’ve probably seen 30 dead adult roaches at this point. But man, this has been emotionally exhausting.

My question is, do I continue living here? Is it possible to eradicate the roach issue in my unit or will it continue to be a problem until I move? Will the roaches come with me when I move?

My place is great, I do love living here. But the roach issue has been chipping away at me mentally and the trash can explosion has been the final straw.

Edit: Its a Three story brownstone, probably 9 units total in the building if that information matters.
