Hi there,

I started to pump foil in February this year with my Takoon Pump 1700 (very recommended).

I now can pump consistently for 30sec-1minute.

Not sure, is it to early to swap the original rear wing (glide 220) for a smaller one?

Any of you that also has a Takoon Kit and can recommend a rear wing? I am kinda overwhelmed by the amount of different sizes and shapes of rear stabs Takoon offers.

I’ve been using the Takoon pump foil backpack for a while now and overall I really like it for its solid build and very competitive price. (I payed 66€ with shipping to Germany)

That said, one thing bothered me: carrying the foil with the wings already mounted.

In the stock setup, the main wing sits at a 90° angle to the backpack. That becomes a problem fast if you have a bigger wing (mine is ~135 cm), because:

• You can’t get through normal doors (~90 cm) without turning sideways like crazy
• The setup sits too low, so the backpack doesn’t rest properly on the ground
• It just feels awkward and unbalanced
• Riding on a bike was just impossible

So I made a small mod that completely changed how usable it is.

I added a few extra straps so I can mount the fuselage with both wings attached along the vertical axis of the backpack instead of sideways.

Result:

• Way narrower profile → easy to walk through doors
• Backpack stands properly without the foil touching the ground
• Feels much more balanced when carrying
• No need to assemble/disassemble every time

I also swapped the small side pocket for a bigger one because the original was a bit too tight (at least for my hands).

Honestly, this is how the bag should have been designed in the first place 😄

Curious if anyone else ran into the same issue or found different solutions?
