Tesla Camping with a baby
I’m planning a week long Tesla camping trip next month with my wife and our 10 month old grand daughter in our 2026 MYP.
The wife and I will sleep on a Snuuzu and I’ve made a base for a baby mattress that sits across the front seats.
We have had a couple test sleeps at home to iron out issues. During the first night, our grand daughter woke early, probably due to the col air from the front air vents. We now make sure the vents are angled upwards directing airflow to the ceiling and our grand daughter sleeps in long sleeves.
During our last test sleep, our grand daughter knocked front screen and turned the aircon on full cool. In a panic to silence the fan noise and dim the screen brightness, the snuuzu made contact with the rear screen and turned on the stereo at full volume.
I’m now planning to disable the rear screen and place the front screen in ‘clean screen’ mode to avoid unintentionally turning things on when we are trying to sleep.
I’ve also set the easy entry seat position to the same position as the camping profile, to avoid the front seat moving when the car is unlocked.
I also added switching off the front seat cooling to the camping set-up checklist and silencing the door lock sound.
Can you think of anything else that we should be doing before we turn in for the night?
