I’m a plaintiff PI attorney considering a move into a Conflicts Attorney/New Business Attorney role at a large firm and would love to hear from anyone who’s made a similar transition.
For those who currently work in conflicts or made the transition from litigation, what’s the most realistic way to break into this practice area? How difficult was the switch? Did firms view your litigation background as an asset, or was the lack of conflicts experience a hurdle? How does the day-to-day compare to practicing law, and are you happy you made the move?
I’m finding myself more interested in the analytical and risk-assessment side of legal work than litigation itself, so I’m curious what the reality of these roles is.
Would appreciate any insight from those who’ve been there. Thanks!
