Is it time to leave Wix behind?
Nothing about my business site is fancy. A handful of pages, a contact form, some photos, a blog I update every so often. And yet somehow I've ended up with a small graveyard of installed apps one for SEO, one for backups, one for security scans, one that builds out landing pages and a couple more I genuinely can't remember adding or why.
Every time I log in to make a small change, something's asking to be updated, reconfigured, or re approved first. It's turned into that feeling of owning a house where you're never quite done with repairs you fix one thing and start bracing for the next.
When I search around for advice, almost everything assumes people are heading toward Wix, not away from it. I'm curious about the opposite move like stripping things back and rebuilding somewhere simpler like Squarespace or even handing the setup over to an AI builder like Durable.
Any hidden downsides to leaving a platform like this or features you didn't realize you'd miss until they were gone?
