Deaf dog is going blind

Deaf dog is going blind

We have a deaf 8/10ish year old Blue Heeler that we suspect was born deaf, her name is Blanche. We adopted her 3 years ago and she has been doing great, such a happy girl. She has had a great quality of life and we did lots of research into how to care for a deaf dog and it's going great. We just took her to an eye specialist because we thought she was getting cataracts. Turns out she has progressive retinal atrophy and will be blind in a year or two. I'm looking for some insight and advice in how to ease her into this next chapter and keep her comfortable and happy. Currently she has trouble seeing in the dark and we take her outside at night with a flashlight which seems to ease some of her discomfort/fear in the dark outside. Any advice would be great, thank you.

I built custom shutters for my house and I don't like them : /

Edit 2 - I'm going to paint the shutters a different color and I think it will improve the look a lot. I'll keep you all posted! Thanks so much for all the kind and helpful responses ☺️

Edit- they actually are the correct size, the window (including trim) is 50" wide and the shutters are 25" wide the very wide trim just makes them look enormous.

I guess I'm looking for some advice or maybe just some kind words that I'm being too picky? The first picture is the new shutters (I looked up how to measure for shutters and it said to include the trim in the measurements), second picture is without the shutters, and the third picture is the house when I bought it. I have put blood, sweat, and so many tears into renovating and restoring my 1930s home in Oklahoma. I have basically renovated everything outside, new insulation and siding, restored wood windows with custom storm windows on the outside, new landscaping, etc. I didn't love the way it looked without shutters so I custom made some and I think they look too big. Any thoughts? Thanks

My bathroom in my 1932 house badly needs a total renovation and I'm in the "planning" phase right now. I try to make all the changes I do to the house "feel" like they could be original, or at least flow well with the rest of the original details of the house. I'm trying to do some research on what a modest, small home in the 1930s would have looked like but it's all very art deco which doesn't really fit with the rest of the home. I have included a picture of my (very messy) original bathroom and a rendering of what I have come up with so far. I would love any (kind and respectful) advice. Thank you.
