How to Turn Off the Charger Lock in 2026 Solterra

We have the 2026 Solterra after having the 2023 Model. I can't figure out how to turn off the feature that locks the charger in place.

We almost never charge at public stations so I really have no need for the feature that locks the charger when it's plugged in. And I find the unlocking to be finicky. How do I turn this off? In my car, I navigated the Infotainment system to the charging menu but don't see a way to toggle off the charger lock there. Is this option located somewhere else with the new vehicle?

Edit: I'm specifically looking for how to disable the lock feature so it doesn't lock, not how to unlock the charger.

Car Bike Rack

I was looking into a bike rack for my car (Solterra) and I was just quoted $1,900 for a rack (Thule - $900) hitch ($500) and hitch install ($400).

That is a lot more than I was thinking. Maybe my expectations were off though.

Is that typical?

I’m not going to use it a ton - mainly short trips north / south to trails a couple times a year and maybe one longer trip up to Wisconsin about 2 hours.

Are some of the cheaper bike racks riskier?

I'm planning to ride my bike to or from work in the North Burbs this Summer. As it's like a 25mile ride, I'll likely just bike one way - likely the AM so I'm leaving the city before roads get very busy.

Is it a problem to bring my bike on at peak times in the afternoon? Do all trains have a bike car?

Clybourn to Highland Park or vice versa.

Edit for clarity:

I've read the policy / press from Metra that bikes are allowed on all trains subject to conditions/room. I'm mainly curious what people have experienced / seen on that train line during the week.

Ideally, I'd prefer to use one of those cars with the bike rack vs the bike space that doubles as the ADA seating but beggars can't be choosers, obvs. I was on a car last week that was quite crowded and I kinda felt like jerk when the conductor rousted people from sitting there.

It would be cool if there was a schedule that showed which trains had the bike car.
