Getting bored of wods and losing enjoyment in CrossFit

Has anyone else experienced this, recently I’ve been looking at the wods for the upcoming week and it’s always just “meh”. Just a bunch of random movements with random rep schemes thrown together. I’m forcing myself to go in then regretting it and just giving up during the workout asking myself “why did I even come in” and just going slow and not getting a good workout.

Our box follows mayhem programming so we’re lucky to get one good wod a week. By good wod I mean something like row & bench, bike & sandbag cleans. I’m looking at these wods and just thinking to myself I’m not going the gym to do that.

For example today’s wod was

5 rounds
Amrap 3
20 box step overs
10 deadlifts

Then tomorrows
7 rounds
21 strict press @35
21 sit-ups
50ft walking lunge w 1 x 22kg db

^^ this will be a tough one but 147 strict press ? Why ?

And even the strength/gymnastics is random, we’ll do ring muscle ups for a few weeks, then the next week will be handstand walks and the week after is rope climbs

There’s no consistency

Fatigued & feeling like I’m losing fitness

I started CrossFit 18 months ago and was beating everyone on cardio wods. Saturday wods would be 40 minute partner wods and I would comfortably pull 1800-2000 on the row/ski for 15/20 cals.

Recently I have been really struggling in wods especially on the ergs. I have a good background in cardio since before starting CrossFit but I’m now struggling to pull 1300/1400 and feeling really unfit and fatigued. I’m 6ft3 and weigh 225lbs so body weigh/range of motion movements usually take it out of me and the ergs is usually were I would make up on lost time but not anymore. I normally train 4-6 days a week but I think I may drop down to 3 and do more zone 2 days instead.

Maybe I’m overtrained as I’ve also had quite a few niggling injuries the last few months, quad tendonitis, strained calf, lower back strain x3, and now hip discomfort and inner elbow pain.

Has anyone dealt with anything similar before and what did you do to help ?
