It’s taken me 2 years, a new single phase motor, new belts, oil, and plenty of banging my head against a brick wall but finally got this 60’s IR compressor up and running. Next is getting everything set up for its proper home.
Just picked up this savage 23d in 22 hornet. It was an online order and as I inspected it I noted that it appears “KILBOURN” was stamped beneath the original “.22 Hornet” marking. Do yall think this has been re-chambered to k-hornet?
Purchased this as the template for a plinker/woods buming/varminter but now I’m kinda stymied over what dies to order.
I plan to test fire and check once my ammo order comes in but just wondering what yall think.
Factory walnut was basically a 2x4 so I spent a day with sandpaper
Just nabbed this up, sitting in my LGS for a few months. Reads K 77557. Holster wear and a little patina (shudder) on the cylinder. Got some oil on the grips and a quick scrub down of the metal.
Anyone have any fun facts?
Love this gun, it’s a tank, shoots well for a carry piece. But gods damn the finish work on this very much not cheap revolver is a massive disappointment
So I recently came into a Howa 1500 short action in .223. Bore measures out to a 1:13 and comes in at right about .22”
I really want to set this up as a critter gitter. Thinking of loading 55gn cast bullets gas checked and powder coated to .22 hornet velocities.
Do yall think I should: cut and thread the existing barrel to around 18”. Put a new short fast twist barrel on it (16”) or pass entirely on the .223 and rebarrel it to 300 blackout?
Over the past month my carry has shifted to a SP101 in 327 mag, with a 5 star speed loader behind my right hip, Kershaw iridium 1st gen and the stereotypical ear buds. Oh and a un pictured taxi wallet lol.
