Soooo yeah. 3 Conference finals team/contenders and then us.

a lot of reports about trading jalen suggs to look for expiring and cheap contracts as a salary dump move. Not because we don't like how he played, but literally cuz we cant keep this team together anymore.

Our starting 5 next season cost as much as celtics and okc roster this season. AB extension is coming up too. Very bad cap situation.

also idk how people can take a look at this and say "yeah lets add another 50m or 44m from ja/murray"

People need to stop with the Jamal Murray for Suggs + Carter

Besides Ja morant. I think this is one of the dumbest idea floating out there. People just assume oh we get another star now we have 4 stars now we win a championship

  1. Murray would make the starting 5 with goga about 175m-180m in the next three or so years. Which cost more than Celtics, okc, spurs, pistons..etc whole roster.

  2. We would be the only team this decade besides the warriors to have 4 max contract players. (Besides the suns during the summer for 2 weeks)

  3. This would mean bane is the fourth option and we did not give up 4 picks for that.

  4. Weltman has multiple times said he is not going to make drastic moves. Other reports says the only possible move is CUTTING SALARY IN A SALARY DUMP move with Suggs

  5. We will not be able to resign AB if we do that

  6. Most importantly, the nuggets GM would laugh their ass off if we offered that package + our one or two tradable first

Truth is, our staring 5 IS WAY too expensive as it is. We have to go cheaper or let AB walk which I’m guessing we not planning on.

If Suggs do get traded. It would’ve a salary dump move where we possibly get cheaper players on shorter contract..etc

Also adding another ball dominant non shooter non defender that plays 40 games a year like morant won’t fix anything

Kyrie is also too old and him and bane would be horrendous on defense.

We have our core 3 Franz p5 and bane. Whether how you feel about them weltman made it clear today he wants to keep our core.

Look at teams like hawk or pistons or other younger rising teams. They didn’t get better by keeping trading assests for a bunch of ball dominant 20ppg scorer. Also there is just no way in hell we push bane to the fourth option, aka 4 picks for a fourth option

Seems like most of this subs believe trading for Ja/Kyrie will solve all our problems

Well it won’t, not only will we have to trade whatever picks we have left. We will be adding HUGE CHUNK OF Money to our roster. We are already one of the more expensive rosters in the league. Adding another 10-15 million will kill us. It will probably mean no money when trying to extend AB/TDS

That’s not even the main issue. The main issue is the fact that we slid 11 spots in defensive rating this year, trading for a small guard with 0 defensive capabilities will not help not.

Yes we need help on offense. But look at other rising teams, pistons, hawks, raptors, hornets, blazers..etc. They don’t get better by going oh let’s keep trading our future away for 20ppg scoring stars and call it a day. They surround their Core with quality role players that actually fits together and plays on a identity

Our main focus should not be “what star pg to target next” it should be deciding who is really part of this core. Who can go and who can stay. And then getting quality role players around the core with cap flexibility.

Oh and most people seem to forget the package of “Suggs and WCJ” will get us nothing but rejected calls by other GM

Some of the stuff I been reading on this sub reddit regarding Franz health insane. It seems majority of people are comparing him embiid and AD??? To me that is genuinely insane. Im not sure if this is from recency bias but I beg people to take a look at his injury history.

79,80,72,60 and the only injury riddled season at 34 this year. It seems people here all agree that getting flipped mid air on a dunk by the Knicks is his fault now??

Lets not forget Franz has also played 20ish games of International ball pretty much every summer on addition to the games he plays int he league.

He has been a freakin iron man up until this season. And its not like he is a injury prone player where he has one spot that is constantly hurt.

I get it, the series might be over now he is out. We are going to blow a 3-1 lead. But god look around the league, Donte and Ant both got hurt and wolves are likely to lose. Hell Kd, Reaves and Luka can't play either and lakers might blow their lead.

Calling Franz injury prone and "cant stay on the court" after one season is incredibility reactionary. I dont see any wolve fans or lakers fan calling for donte ant luka or reaves to be traded
