I love Traviata. I’ve listened to many interpretations (Netrebko, Callas, Tebaldi, Scotto, Gheorghiu, Oropesa, Zeani, Sutherland, Moffo, Cotrubas) and can’t pick a favourite still. It’s either a matter of tone, top notes, or interpretation that bother me. That is, I find something of value in every performer mentioned, but find it difficult to point a favourite, since they’re all so very different. I can only say I enjoy Netrebko’s top (but don’t necessarily love her vocal color). Which singer caught your eye the most and why?
