My wife and I had the privilege to see the band play here on the 2022 tour. Dolly Parton first took this stage in 1959 at age THIRTEEN! What a shrine! They've played there often but always make a point to celebrate the history. (It would have been a better experience if the CoD on fb didn't stalk us and post pictures, but I digress......). Anyway, we were on Jenny's side :)

Unfortunately, I'm still on zux hellscape, but too many family members and childhood friends to completely abandon it yet. Anyway, a couple of weeks after Travelers' Rest II, I visited my old local in Santa Rosa and "Sucker's Prayer" came on the radio.

2018 was only 8 years ago, but what a completely different world it was then!

(Also, Linda is the greatest bartender who ever was and would probably hand me a rum and Coke in a bucket if I randomly ran into her on the street in Bangkok!)

Lyrics can be checked more reliably at the source

Preferably dressed like this little dork, too.

...that John Darnielle had died and Colin was at the tribute show but couldn't remember any Mountain Goats songs. Obnoxious audience members were calling out lyrics but they were all wrong. Anyway, everyone is still alive, but why have we never seen those two together?

WHAT ARE THE HIDING???

Also, maybe pasta and ice cream just before bed may not be the best formula for restful sleep.

The bar was ACME, they played as the December Brides, the opener was Alela Diane.

IYKYK, if not then you should pay attention to who he covers.

Since there's two Moen posts, why not pile on some more? I photoshopped this as a joke years back. Maybe still worth making actual buttons for future meet and greets (if they ever do that again, certain groups of fans were over the top the last two tours so they have really pulled back from interactions). I won't, but anyone else can copy my dumb idea as long as they send me one :)

When Colin shared my post of "Little Alex Horne!", I mean baby John Moen. On this day, 2021.
