HOPE/ZELL maintenance over Academic Break

Hey everyone,

I'm in a situation right now where I'll be taking a semester medical leave in order to recover from a surgery. I checked with the Bursar's office and I do not have to/can't declare a leave of any sort because it is too short of a time I'll be gone

I am a little worried about how doing so may affect HOPE/ZELL however. Calling the Georgia Student Finance Commission they said it was all up to them being notified by GT, and the office at Tech hasn't gotten back to me.

I wanted to hear from other students who've been in my position how things managed to work with regards to ZELL/HOPE, if possible. Thank you guys very much

Injury Recovery during Semester

Hey everyone, just looking to ask some questions for people who have recovered from surgeries or severe injuries (broken bones, etc) during the semester.

I'm wondering to ask how the experience was as, I am looking to undergo a procedure for a weightlifting injury, which will limit my dominant arm mobility for most of the semester and that I will need physical therapy for.

I debating whether or not it is worth trying to recover and remain a student or to take a medical leave semester. I have heard the office of disability services is quite accommodating and the process is manageable but I want to hear people's actual experiences to get a more accurate description of the experience.
