Ive never been into grunge, never liked Nirvana, pearl jam and the rest, but something about Alice in Chains got me the first time i heard the SAP EP, love all the staley albums. Facelift is my favourite!Sean kinney's drumming is superb. Cantrell ofcourse is amazing with the riffs and vocals.

The last song Mortem 21mins horror opus is hypnotic death doom perfection imo.

Felt like a night for some meat and potatoes HM2 death metal. This German band's 3rd album is melodic, riff laden killer drums and to top it some heavy 'entombed worship. Nothing new here but a good listen all in all.

Desultory from Sweden, sophomore 94 album jumping on to the 'wolverine blues' train that hit Stockholm do a fantastic job of taking it into their own. Amazing riffs, drums, bass, overall a killer. I infact like this more than the thrashy first outing 'into eternity'. Glad to have this in my collection.

New band playing a style of 90s Floridian Death Metal. Killer riffs, bouncy. Love the samples between songs, recognised some from Apocalypse Now and Platoon, songs on the Vietnam war. Recommend this. I like.

Blackened Death Metal from 1998, like Hammer of the Gods this album rips. John Longstreth drumming through the album is killer.

This 1993 album from Ashpyx is a blaster. I was pretty obsessed with asphyx after The Rack till the 94 self titled. The come back albums are pretty solid too. I like.

This Swedish band takes influences from abominations and altars chapters of Morbid Angel.
Blasphemous evil sounding death metal. So if you're into early Morbid then this right up your alley. Check it out!
Transcending Obscurity - 2025
Taking it slow and heavy into the caverns of Costa Rica. Their Demo in 24 was impressive so picked this up and it doesn't disappoint. Slow, heavy cavernous death doom. Raw sounding but clear production, sounds like they were in a room together and recorded. Check it out if you're into this style.

This band from Bavaria has a unique take on brutal tech death which im not a big fan of at all, but these guys have something i enjoy, it also got more concrete when i saw them live. Lile Gruber is a monster on the drums. Tasty and brutal. I like.

Debut album from this UK death doom band. Filthy and almost raw production on this one. Nice drumming and love the sound of the snare got a good snap and crack.
