Is this Expats Living in Lyon FB Group not allowing Americans to join?

I was wondering why I wasn't able to join the Expats Living in Lyon Facebook Group. The group seemed very active. I have a burner FB account and said I was from another country (I won't say which in case they figure out who I am) when I requested to join. They just accepted my burner account. My regular FB account where I said I was an American was not accepted.

I'm so sad. I'm moving to Lyon in October and I really want to integrate into Lyon and connect with people in the expat community (eventually integrate more with the French as my French improves).

Do I need to start telling everyone I'm Canadian?

How to grow my interior design business in Lyon

I am moving to Lyon and am applying for the Profession Liberale Visa. I am putting together a business plan on how to grow my business there for my ANEF application. I already have a solid business running in Chicago so my goal here is to expand my reach. Are there any practical things you would recommend to do this? Be it advertising, networking, etc.

Why do people w the jankiest cars drive like they have money to spare?

I just got back driving a round-trip between Chicago and Detroit and why is it that every beat up car was riding my tail at 80 miles an hour?

I brake for those people. If the speed limit is 70 I’m going 35 just for you. And when you speed up to get around me I’m hitting the gas hard.

You’re putting my life in danger in your life in danger. I HATE tailgaters.

Once they get past me, I see them up ahead, weaving in and out of traffic and driving up to 100 miles an hour.

Stop driving like you’ve got the money to fix that car once you get into an accident. Or like you have health insurance.

From Chicago to Lyon

I’m moving alone from Chicago to Lyon. I decided I needed to live in a big city and then will eventually buy a home in the countryside. For those of you who live in that area what do you like and dislike?

I’m also a little nervous as my impression of the expat community in France (outside of Paris) is that it’s mostly retirees. The American expat facebook group in Lyon definitely looks mostly like retirees. I tend to run with the late 20s to early 40s crowd. I’m worried about feeling isolated. Are there expats more in the 20s to 40s age range in Lyon?

Ukranian Village too.

I want a good foot scrub, foot massage and to feel pampered. I like to sit in the massage chairs too.

I had a place I used to go to before but the service has gone downhill in the past year.
