This art is a reference to the 2026 Tokyo JOYPOLIS event where Tails and Sage went shopping together and helped each other set up a surprise birthday party for both Sonic and Dr. Eggman.

Art by Wickedcriminal on Tumblr. Although I prefer Tailsage, I still think Nine x Sage can be neat. Plus I feel inclined to like it just because it’s still technically Tailsage. I do think they’d have a more hostile dynamic considering Nine’s perception of the Egg Empire was the Chaos Council, in which he probably has zero respect for. Then Sage would reciprocate the disrespect.

I think Tailsage is more appealing because of Tails being the pure-hearted and humble character that he is, so it’s sweeter to see how he’s able to empathize and respect Sage despite being enemies.

The art itself is mine but The Sage design isn’t entirely by me. I was inspired a by this design I saw on Roblox.

I would’ve had the plushie as the actual Tails doll instead, but I think the idea of Sage owning a legitimate plushie of Tails is cuter. Plus it would be kind of weird to love someone vicariously through your own brother.

I headcanon Tails being taller than all of his friends when he’s older, just because I think it would be funny since he’s pint sized currently. So I like the idea of Sage dwarfing him regardless in the future.

Plus it makes sense, she’s designed after a human and is naturally going to be taller than all of the cast when she’s older. Though I do love tinypwbble’s interpretation of their height difference, this feels canon to me.

This is just my personal enjoyment. This isn’t me stating an objective tier list. Having recently replayed all of these games, a few of these used to be higher on the list, but it was a very different experience to when I was a kid. Some of these are better left in nostalgia.
