I honestly don’t know how to grow anymore.
I’m getting to a point where I’m genuinely frustrated and I don’t really know what else to try.
I make music, release it on streaming platforms, post on social media, try different kinds of content, promote my releases, interact with people — but nothing really seems to move.
My monthly listeners stay incredibly low.
My follower numbers barely change.
Sometimes I’ll put a lot of work into something and it feels like almost nobody even sees it.
And I know growth takes time. I’m not expecting thousands of listeners overnight. But after constantly trying different things and still seeing almost no progress, it starts to mess with your head a little.
The hardest part is that I genuinely love making music. I don’t want to stop. I just have no idea how to actually get the music in front of people anymore.
For those of you who started with basically no audience and eventually managed to build one: what actually changed things for you?
Was there something specific you started doing differently? A certain type of content? More releases? Less promotion? Collaborations? Just patience?
Because right now I feel like I’m throwing everything at the wall and nothing sticks.
