Rejuvenation

A few weeks I came here and posted the picture of my overgrown hydrangea. And not many people commented and the only ones said to ask a professional. Well, I actually am the professional lol but I always fret most over my own trees.
I decided to give myself some advice like I was my own client. Last winter, I had already removed 40 percent of the canopy last winter to start the rejuvenation process. It was so hard to look at this spring… boy was it ugly. But! As summer progressed, it recovered and then I have given it a final haircut. Ahhh now that feels better. :)

panicle hydrangea tree (VT)

I need to get this hydrangea under control but worried about hard pruning it. It doesn’t have a great structure due to poor pruning before I owned it. Anyone else struggle to hard prune and glad they did it?

Sailing on Lake Champlain

I’m looking to put together a small, regular crew to go sailing on a keelboat in Burlington for a few hours each week, ideally on weekday mid-mornings to mid-afternoons.

I’m an experienced skipper and more than happy to sail with beginners, no prior experience needed. What matters most is finding people who are relaxed, comfortable on the water, and able to leave any stress or distractions at the dock so we can enjoy the time fully underway.

Feeling good about my neck

I’m 47 and I took this selfie the other day and it made me realize how confident my neck and skin make me feel. I have sensitive skin so I can’t use any chemicals or acids or even lotions. But I have found that Mad hippie oil is amazing at keeping my skin glowy. And I will use shea butter in the winter. Sunscreen, sunglasses and hats are a must. I like to do honey/sea salt or coffee/ jojoba shrubs once a week. I use clay mask once a month. I keep my omega 3:6 ratio to 1:2 and eat an optimal diet. The biggest thing other than keeping sun damage to a minimum is keeping my neck relax and to avoid text neck.

We stayed 4 nights at an Airbnb in Rome. The last morning I requested a 11 am check out (10 am was the rule) and was granted it from the host. At 8 am, a man claiming to be maintenance demanded to let in. My host never told me anyone would be coming so I told the man, no way I was letting him in. It felt very unsafe, especially since the night before the unit next door had a drunken rager until 5 am. I had no way to know if it was a scam and even if it was legit, we were never told any maintenance was coming. At 9:30, the man returns demanding to be let in and again at 10:00-10:30 stood out the door screaming at us and banging on the door. We left at 10:30 due to the harassment. Airbnb is not being responsive to this issue. I feel this is a major issue and I can’t imagine anyone would feel safe letting someone in without prior communication from the host, especially at a critical time when we were showering and packing. How can I escalate my concern?
