Lift them heavy weights sisters!!!

Hey all lovely sisters out there. I see so many helpful advice in this sub and people are truly nice to eachother. So glad I found you!

But dont forget to work with the inside. Stop exhausting your body with too much cardio and focus on weightloss. Build muscles!!!

When lifting heavy you stress your body, in a healthy way, into releasing hormones that will build collagen, boost circulation, prevent muscle and bone loss all over the body. Things no creams, fillers or surgical procedures will do. Im not saying these are wrong but I truly believe in the whole picture.

And most of all, love yourself fiercly ❤️ you are fucking amazing!

Edit: If you are interested in the importance of lifting heavy for your bones and hormones I recommend Dr Vonda Wrights book Unbreakable. There are also training advice etc. I am not affiliated or anything, it was just an eye opener for me personally.

Results with solawave red light therapy at home

Had two sessions at a salon, loved the results but couldn't keep paying for appointments. My derm best friend told me to get an at home mask for the collagen benefits. Went with solawave for the stronger irradiance and quick sessions. 4 times a week and moisturizer after. Morning is cold water, toner niacinamide serum SPF and I ladd small layer of Nivea. That's it. Updtae it from 0 to day 30. My skin went from looking flat and dull to having some life in it again and Im so happy

Is a deep plane facelift the only way to fix these jowls?

Hi everyone,
I am a 48-year-old woman and have been aging normally. I feel I look like a healthy 48-year-old woman with the exception of my jowls, which are just so loose and are a stark contrast to how the rest of my face looks.

I was talked into trying PTO threads last year to try and help this area, they did nothing. This area is getting continuously worse relatively quickly and it’s driving me nuts.

I really don’t want to have to do a partial facelift(🤕💰), but I don’t know if there’s anything else that can tighten the skin in this area.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Would love recommendations for very gentle, but very thorough cleanser.

I’m very sensitive to artificial everything (think colours and dyes in food, laundry detergents, fragrance of most descriptions, scented room deodorisers, and so on), so low-tox or organic-type brands would be great. I’m 44, in perimenopause, my skin is pale, very dry. Would love something that will cleanse my face, but that is really body-friendly for sensitive souls like me. Obviously, I have googled this a lot, but recommendations would be very welcome.

There's a difference between aging gracefully and just giving up right?

Im all for aging gracefully I truly am. I have no interest in looking 25 again but wanting my skin to look healthy and vibrant at 45 shouldnt be controversial. My skin just looks TIRED lately. Not old exactly, just dull and flat and like all the energy drained out of it. When I say I want to improve my skin people act like im being vain but I literally just want to look alive and like I take care of myself.

What are you guys doing to maintain that healthy energetic look without going overboard? I want realistic sustainable things that actually make a visible difference not a whole cosmetic procedure

The best body lotion in my 40 years

I’ve tried a lot of lotions. I found this lotion after trying to find one that wouldn’t break me out (Cerave did break me out). I ran out of this lotion and went back to the little I had left of Cerave, and back to Eucerin I went. My skin has never ever been so soft and Ive only used 1 full bottle. It definitely has to do with the Urea. I was really missing out for far too long!

Eyelash serum straight tip vs curved tip which one is better?

My lashes have been falling out like crazy lately so Ive been looking for a good eyelash serum.
While searching, I saw there are two main types of applicators the straight brush like tip and the curved mascara style tip.
I have no idea how to use the straight one properly. There are tons of reviews but I still cant figure it out. Has anyone tried it?
The curved one seems way easier for beginners like me but some have that little thing on the front. How do you use that part?
If youve tried any eyelash serums please share your experience! Especially if you actually saw good results!

First time Botox / filler tips

Hi everyone - I’ll turn 40 this August, I’m 12 month post partum, my baby is finally weaned and as a gift to myself I want to get Botox/filler.

This will be my first time. I’m particularly concerned about a loss of collagen in my face after pregnancy/post partum/breastfeeding (which has caused my skin to look thinner and small veins to appear under my eyes), 11 lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet. I’d also like to get some filler in my lips.

When I try to book an appt with a wrinkle reducer / filler provider, I see options for Botox, Dysport or Xeomin. I don’t know which one I should choose. Also see options for a “lip flip” versus filler. Also they’re asking how many units I want, I have no idea!

It’s very overwhelming. Do I need to get a consultation before even booking an appt? Is that what yall did? I want to go in armed with some research and feedback from others, so I don’t just go along with whatever the esthetician says, and maybe I don’t get the result I want.

Thank you so much in advance for any tips or recommendations!

Differin Gel on my forehead and CereVe Retinol Cream on the rest of my face?

I have two smallish bumps on my forehead that have been there for several months now. I am currently using the retinol cream on my face, but I picked up some differin gel to hopefully treat the two bumps.

However, now I am seeing that using both at the same time can cause damage to your skin barrier even if I am using them on two different parts of my face.

I don’t really have acne, just these two small bumps, which is why I chose the retinol cream to begin with. But I don’t think it’s going to work on these two bumps. Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Greatly improved skin but now milia?!!

Thanks to French pharmacy products, over the past year I have drastically improved my skin (female 44). I went from excessively dry skin, to skin that is hydrated and brighter. My daily routine is generally AM: Caudalie gentle cleanser, G&G Vitamin C, G&G Peptide serum (occasional use), Rohto Hada Labo moisturizer, and SVR SunSecure sunblock (moisturizing cream). PM- Caudalie cleanser, tretinoin (every other PM + cerave PM cream), and on non-tret evenings I use Avene Hylauron cream. In the past 2 months I have developed milia for the fist time around the eyes. I have used estradiol (vaginal) a handful of times over the past few weeks. I don't think any of these products are "new" to my routine except the estradiol, which I've used maybe 4 times over the past 2 months. Help! Milia is a horrible problem I need to eliminate--I had two that I was able to remove. What can I do to prevent milia? I just got the Medicube Zero Pore toner (plan to use 2x week). I also plan starting to microneedling 1x month (every 4 weeks). What am I doing that is causing milia?! I'm wondering if it could be the SVR sunblock (creamy, hydrating) because I used LRP daily for many months and didnt have any milia. Help!

What do I do?

I’m always red because I spend so much time in the sun plus I have rosacea. I use sunscreen multiple times a day. I’m starting to see wrinkles and damage. I want clearer looking skin. I feel like this disaster of a face happened so quickly. It also was much nicer before I tried tretnoin.

Talk me into or out of an at-home skincare device?

I've been a products only person my whole life but lately I keep hearing that the real results come from tools and devices not just what you put on your skin. I have no idea where to start though. There's so many options out there and I can't tell what's legit vs overhyped influencer marketing. Has anyone here actually committed to an at-home device long enough to see real changes?

Not 'I used it once and my skin felt smooth' but actual visible results over weeks or months. What did you use, how long before you noticed something, and would you buy it again, no budget limit thanks?

Anything than can help improve a downturned mouth line?

Would prefer minimally invasive/topical solutions but down to hear any actual success stories. 45 and this seemed to happen overnight!

Better to increase percentage or frequency of tret?

I’ve had a lot of success with 0.25% tretinoin, using a 4-day cycle routine (day 1 liquid exfoliate, day 2 tret, day 3 extra moisturization, day 4 extra moisturization). I now no longer have any peeling when I use it.

I’m wondering if I should jump to using it every second or third day, or if I should stick with this routine that works well for me in terms of barrier restoration, and ask to go to 0.5%.

Any advice?

ISO moisturizing, non-comodegenic mineral sunscreen with anti-aging ingredients

I know this might be a long shot! Looking to simplify my routine with the onset of raging adult acne. I want one product that moisturizes, protects, and provides some anti-aging benefits. Chemical sunscreens tend to burn my eyes so would prefer mineral. Fragrance free would be a plus. Currently have been using Elta MD UV Clear but wish it were a tad more moisturizing and had some nice benefits beyond the SPF. Any price point is fine. Tinted okay too! Can’t wait to hear your faves!

Bangs??

Ladies…if you’re willing - can you show me before and after pics with bangs? I asked chat gpt to compare my face two years ago to now and tell me what is different and suggest things to do. It was kind so thats nice. But did say that getting narrower with age and hair loss, it looks longer. Suggested curtain bangs start ay the cheek could be a great refresher than long and straight, with the illusion of pulling features down.
Bangs scare me!! Haha. But if you did this and love it, and are willing to share, show me your pics?? I’d love real life inspo!

Which moisturizer is best for dry skin?

Been looking for a holy grail face moisturizer for dry skin but most of the stuff people recommend seems to be for people with just a little dryness. I need something for actual, deep dry skin moisturizing not just a light lotion. So far I have tried the basic CeraVe and La Roche Posay the cicaplast one, but they didn't really help. My skin still feels parched and tight almost immediately. My routine is super basic just a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, i even tried layering oils and heavier balms for better moisturizing, which helps for a bit, but I still don’t feel hydrated throughout the day. I’m just desperate for something that actually works and keeps my skin soft for more than five minutes.

So yeah, what would you say is the best moisturizer for dry skin, especially if you’ve dealt with really flaky, stubborn patches?

Sun & Tretinoin

Hello are there any people out there that have had experience exposing their faces and chest to the sun while on Tret? I know the rules. I know it is not advised but what happens if you do? I’m actually serious. I’m a big sun girl and a sun hat would be very strange for me.

Just want to clarify for everybody that has assumed I am going to purposely sunbathe for hours and intentionally destroy my face, and assume that the rules don’t apply to me.
Not true!
I’m just a girl who loves to walk my dogs and live lives along the lake shore in Milwaukee. I wear SPF 50 all day every day and was simply curious about what would happen on my new adventure with Tret if I happen to be out in the sun without a hat or found myself in a sunny situation enjoying life.

45 and have gained/lost 35 lbs over thr past decade. Suddenly feel like I look tired and saggy all the time.

Thinking of trying sculptra and RF microneedling but don’t want to dump money into temporary/minimal results. Or should I start considering midface lift/lower bleph?

Best scrub for keratosis pilaris

Help a girlie out, does anyone have a holy grail scrub for keratosis pilaris? had these chicken skin bumps on my arms and thighs but lately it’s just gotten so much worse. at the point where i stopped wearing short sleeves or tank tops entirely because I am so self conscious about people seeing the texture. Def ruined my confidence I feel like I’m constantly hiding my body, even when it's roasting outside.
I feel so helpless because I feel like I’ve tried everything. I’m desperate for anything that will actually make my skin feel smooth for once.
