I'd read Book One {A Web of Vows and Vengence by Aria Ashbrook} and Book Two of the Hirathean Path series and enjoyed them. Certain bits grated on me, but I was still looking forward to Book Three.

Unfortunately, the third installment {Blood of Truth and Traitor's by Aria Ashbrook}, recently released, was a heaping pile of steaming turd and I DNFd it at 75%.

I'm gutted, so many elements had such promise, new characters and magic, new scenery... and then Ashbrook screwed it all with gushing and sickening relationships and terrible pacing. The new stuff might as well not have existed! Nothing bloody happens that couldn't have been wrapped up in 5 or 6 chapter's, instead of spinning it out for over 40.

And another thing....why do writers feel like they need each of their little cliques to hook up with one another and who all conveniently end up being world ending loves and fated mates? Is this just a tactic to exclude the prospect of new outside characters, or because they're too lazy to nurture a role in the narrative that isn't a romantic one. Ugh!

I need a book that looks beyond the main characters and weaves them in to a more developed storyline... I'm off to peruse the kindle store.

Frustrated from the book chair!!!

So I started a sample on my kindle a while back, but for whatever reason, I read something else. The bit I did read, however has stuck with me and despite trawlling my kindle library and samples, I can't find the it and can't remember what the title was.

Based on the following points, can you wonderful people help a girl out and remind me what it was, please?:

-FMC was helping to prepare a dead body for burial.

- I think her and her mum(?) are traditionally healers but her father, who is dead, was a mortician/undertaker. They've just taken over the important role from him.

-Brother (I think) seemed to have some form of disease where his flesh was dying. I think his hand was turning black and they had to cut parts of the flesh away to hold back the spread.

-Blurb of the book mentioned the story involved her ending up at the palace, trying to prevent the king or prince from dying of an illness, possibly the dying flesh one. I think that is the MMC and they develop a romantic relationship due to forced proximity

-I remember the subs described it as dark, and quite graphic when it came to the FMC having to try and heal/stave off the disease for those with it. So assume there a lot of cutting flesh?

-i don't remember there being magic, or Fae etc but as I only read a bit of the sample, that might not be the case. It's possible I didn't get to it.

My googling suggests it is What Devour by Linsey Miller, but it definitely isn't.

I think the book I'm thinking of is quite well known, just clearly not to my addleled brain!

Any help you can give me will be hugely appreciated as I'm going out of my mind and would really like to read it.

I had a second top up on my brows today and my artist follows the dry heal method. I can't use any actives on my forehead or around my eyes for a few weeks. However after having them done initially and then after the first top up, my forehead really struggled with closed comedones and flaky skin. It also became oily. I think it was dehydrated.

Any recommendations for products that won't aggravate/fade my eyebrows, but will also stave off a bumpy, flakey forehead, please? I'm open to any products from toners through to wipes and masks.

So like 'duh'! For my first 7 viewings I just assumed Bernardo was a cute and silly name for Tuckers banana, given to his as part of the hazing from Beau. Then on the 8th run through it hit me - it's actually Banardo. Made me chuckle!

Want to recommend by current obsession. Apologies if the search function has failed me, but I never see The Dying Lands Series by Rosa Heart, being discussed. The first book is {A Forbidden Fae king by Rosa Heart} and I'm in love with it. Has anyone else out there read it and have view, good or bad?

Usually a quick search helps me out, but I can't believe more people aren't discussing it.

Trope is slow burn enemies to lovers, inter-realm politics, decent level of spice. I'd say maybe 3-4/5. MMC is just delicious. FMC is predominantly strong. Heavy environmental focus for those that love books with descriptive and nature focused characters and worlds.

Main trigger is abuse, but nothing too extreme. Some torture, which turned my stomach a bit. My main trigger is how visceral my anger is at some of the actions and behaviours of some of the characters. A sign of how invested I am.

I have been loving the multi world building and vivid descriptions. I've felt rage and and even had a good cry. I've been frustrated and almost DNFd the first book. Not because I didn't like it, but because some of the characters natures and things they said we're properly fury inducing that I wanted to jump in front of the main characters and defend them 🤣

Writing isn't perfect at times and Kindle needs to sort its life out and correct some text issues, but I've overlooked that for a good story.

Would love to hear from anyone who's read it.

It's so cocky and cute all at the same time. Possibly one of the sexiest things he does.
