Down an endocrine disruptor rabbit hole. Where do I start?

I made the mistake of endless scrolling tiktok about parabens last week and now I can't stop going thru my bathroom medicine cabinet reading ingredient lists. phthalates, parabens, oxybenzone etc guys I don't understand what half of these do to your hormones. but I am sure their not great past 40!

I'm dealing with some new hormonal stuff at. 46 and now I'm paranoid my own products are turning against me and making things worse. problem is I don't know where to start. do I need to toss everything and start over or is that overkill? Is there a list somewhere?

Which church chairs hold up better with constant setup/teardown?

We have a mid size (around 400 person) congregation and our fellowship hall does basically everything. We do Sunday overflow seating one week, community dinners the next, then small group setup on Wednesdays. Its a different config every few days in the same room. we partner with a nonprofit that runs a food pantry out of the space Saturday mornings, and they tear it down and reset it completely and its become a hassle. We've been going back and forth on stackable chairs vs interlocking church chairs, so we're looking for chairs that hold up better for reconfiguring. Interlocking looks more intentional (if I can say that) and I feel like it could work for overflow, but unlinking and relinking for the pantry reset has started to wear on volunteers. Stackable is easier to move but Im worried theyll look cheap.

whats yall thoughts on using the galaxy watch9 for sleep tracking

i feel like everyone talks about workouts and step counts but im over here just trying to fix whatever disaster my sleep schedule has become. and its not even a minor thing anymore, its actually messing with my mental health at this point bruh

been seeing a bunch of youtube reviews on the Galaxy Watch9 and the sleep stuff is what actually caught my attention. they have a 4 week program that basically helps you with sleep management. i know most people grab a smartwatch for the fitness side but i just wanna stop waking up exhausted every single day. insomnia has me in a chokehold fr

my sleep has been all over the place and its gotten to where im noticing it during work and just generally feeling foggy/lack of energy. im wondering is whether the sleep coaching thing has been effective for anyone or if its just gonna hand me a bad score every morning and call it a day 😭anybody actually used it yet?

How did you handle the wedding RSVP chase? 6 weeks out and drowning

Our wedding RSVP list is a disaster. 38 out of 143 invites still havent responded and were 6 weeks out. Some of these people verbally confirmed to me MONTHS ago (which i feel should not count as a wedding rsvp but we move on) they just never actually clicked on our rsvp link. withjoy sends automatic rsvp reminders which ive got to assume helps some, but some of these people are just built different I guess. Future brother in law is one of the worst offenders at this point lol

Absolutely dreading this weekend because I now need to do the followups (agian).Part of me is worried Ill come across as pushy but the caterer needs a final headcount in like 3 weeks so I dont really have the luxury of waiting anymore

Pretty much I mainly want the Galaxy Z Flip8 so i can dramatically snap it shut on people mid call again 😂

hear me out. tapping a little red circle to hang up has no real affect.. i miss ending a call by physically closing the phone, ideally with unnecessary flair, ideally while the other person is still talking. you cannot slam a slab phone shut. ive tried, it does nothing, i just look unwell

Imagine you are arguing with your partner and them boom satisfaction or the guys from the dating apps lol

I can be toxic..anyways theres a real reason im highly considering the Galaxy Z Flip8. phones got huge at some point and mine doesnt fit half my pockets and i brace myself every time i sit down. i just want a phone thats tiny closed so it pockets like a normal object, and a full size screen when its open so im not squinting to text. best of both worlds if it holds up day to day

is that a dumb reason to want a whole new phone or what??!?!?

Anyone notice folding chairs are priced all over the place for what looks like the same product?

I handle facilities for my church and I need to order around 40 folding chairs for an event space we're setting up there. All the church chairs i see on amazon look identical to the commercial chairs going for way more tho. I started looking into the listings and theres a bunch of specs i dont fully understand. I found bizchair while googling and their site has more of a breakdown so at least i have something to compare against, but still feels like im guessing so can anyone help? Tryna to figure out if theres price gap or if theyre marked up, and what separates commercial grade folding chairs from consumer grade ones

Best hacks for travel deals?

Im trying to get one trip in before summer's over and im done overspending on everything (looking at portugal or greece). Usually the most I do is check vacation packages on expedia or similar and run shopback for cashback on top. I want to believe theres more ways to cut corners than that tho. Anyway if you've got deal hacks send them my way. flights, packages, cashback stacking, whatever works

who's approving access requests at your company because ours is a black hole

We've got a process for new hire and role change access requests on paper but in practice half of them sit waiting on an approval from someone who's out of office or just doesn't see the ticket. So IT ends up as the fall guy either way either we wait and the new hire can't work or we grant it ourselves and hope it was fine.

How are you managing approvals being routed to the right person automatically?

Anyone regret waiting until their 30s to get life insurance?

I never really cared about term insurance until last week. Im 31 and had my annual physical last week and for the first time ever my bloodwork came back not normal. Nothing life threatening but enough to get me thinking.

I started looking into basic term life insurance for 30 year old applicants to protect my partner in case something happens and wow look at these numbers. Totally cursing myself rn for waiting for so long. Just being in my 30s bumps the baseline premium up a noticeable amount compared to what it wouldve cost me at 25.

One day youre young and healthy and term insurance feels like a money waste and but it you wait until your body starts showing you signs of aching you get hit by higher rates. Anyone else put this off and regret the delay or did you just give in and finalise something?

How to actually lock in when you really need to get things done??

I've used all the advice, like pomodoro, putting my phone away, making a to-do list, breaking tasks into smaller steps and many more but what I notice is that when it's time to actually start, my brain just WON'T cooperate.

Like, I would spend hours thinking about working, planning to work, or getting everything ready to work but I will still end up not actually getting the work done. I badly need an advice or tips from people who managed to get out of a slump like this. Like genuinely what helped y'all to really lock in?

Please tell me there's a trick for wearing satin skirts witho VPLs!!

I want one of those satin slip skirts and I physically cannot solve the VPL problem. Every pair of underwear I own shows through no matter what style I try. Thongs help a little but still show a line and anything with more coverage is somehow worse.

I tried going without and that felt just wrong!! Just hated the commando feeling! I'm not trying to give up on wearing one of these I just feel like everyone else figured out a trick I haven't.

please share what you're doing bc I'm out of ideas.

Mobile data not turning on. Anyone else?

I've been dealing with this really annoying issue lately. Whenever I turn on my data, the 5G icon near the signal bars that signifies that the mobile data is turned on is not showing up even though the signal bars are full.

Sometimes toggling airplane mode fixes it, but MOST of the time I have to restart my phone (which is very inconvenient btw). After restarting, the data would work perfectly.

Already ruled out the signal problem btw cause, I'm in the same area when it's not working and then when it starts working after restarting.

So, I don't know if it's an android issue, a carrier problem, or something's wrong with my phone. Has anyone experienced this before?

Edit: Galaxy S25 on T-Mobile

How do you speed up a 1M+ LOC C++ build?

Weve got just over a million lines, full clean builds at 45 minutes. It's moved from a CI problem to a developer behavior problem because people are batching changes to avoid waiting.

We've done some header cleanup. Helped incrementals, didn't touch full builds. PCH is on the list, unity builds keep coming up in conversation, nobody agrees on whether the tradeoffs make sense at this size.

Im wondering what actually moved the needle for those of you out there?

Inito or Mira for PCOS? which is better?

Been dealing with PCOS for years and my cycles are all over the place...trying to figure out which monitor is actually going to help me track things accurately without making me lose my mind.i see a lot of inito vs mira polls going around and honestly i just want to know what works better for PCOS hormones.

from what I understand both devices track the 4 main hormones but they display the data differently. . trying to figure out which style is less confusing when your hormones are always fluctuating... . .also mira has a pcos mode too. .does that mode give you any extra info?? . . .couldn't find much info on that online... my main and biggest point of concern is with PCOS cycles can get lonnggg and you can end up burning through a ton of test strips every month. so i want to make sure i am picking the right one from the start

found an ex-employee's accounts still active 5 weeks after their last day. offboarding is still a mess

Routine audit last week turned up a departed employee - good exit, no issues but Google Workspace was still active he was still in groups and Salesforce was still reachable through SSO. Left five weeks ago.

Process is a shared checklist so HR notifies IT then IT works the list and then separate steps for Finance and a couple other teams that nobody really enforces. Fine for midweek departures when everyone's around. Falls apart any other time. How's everyone handling this so it doesn't depend on perfect timing and people actually being available?

Foods that trigger GLP-1 side effects

What GLP-1 side effects have been really prominent for you? Nausea was so brutal for me, and it felt so random for the first two months of taking the medication. My doctor said side effects vary person to person. True. Still not helpful when you're in it every week.

I kept trying to think back through what I'd eaten and retrace my steps for the day and nothing obvious would stand out. I started logging my doses and how I felt alongside my meals and it was huge in allowing me to gain some insight but it can be tedious.

High fat meals are my biggest trigger. Not just greasy food but anything like heavy. Large portions of anything, even the good foods seem to be an issue too and I eat way too much popcorn if its in front of me. Eating too fast can be a problem but the BIGGEST trigger was eating too close to my medication dose.

What foods were issues for you? The obvious ones are pizza, fried good, cream sauce, etc. The ones that surprised me more was soda and sparkling water!
