Is maintenance required?

Do I absolutely HAVE TO stay on wegovy once I hit my goal? Or can I just use the discipline I created and stay active in the gym and eat in a maintaince for calories?? I don’t like the idea of just simply being on it forever?

Wegovy - stay on 0.5 or increase to 1.0?

0.5 to 1.0 — stay or move up?
I’m finishing up my month on 0.5 Wegovy and trying to decide whether to stay at 0.5 another month or move up to 1.0. My coach suggested staying at 0.5 because I’m still having some mild side effects, but I’m leaning toward trying 1.0.
I only actually got sick (vomiting) after my very first 0.25 dose. Since then, I’ll occasionally have some mild nausea, usually a day or two after my shot, but I haven’t thrown up and have been able to manage it with Zofran. I’ve also had some constipation, but that’s been manageable too.
For those who had relatively mild/manageable side effects on 0.5, did you move up to 1.0 on schedule or stay at 0.5 longer? If you moved up, was there a big difference in side effects? Also, was there a significant difference in weight loss between 0.5 and 1.0? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Here we go again!

I was in wegovy & zepbound for a little over a year but didn’t take it seriously. Still ate what I wanted, so naturally I barely lost any weight- but quality of life was great because the food noise was gone. Then insurance stopped covering, so I was off it for a bit. Then I tried the wegovy pill for a few months and was trying, but it wasn’t very effective because of the nature of the pill, but still lost about 10 pounds.

Now my insurance is covering the injections again, and I just did my first shot last night! I’m going to keep being serious this time around to get the most benefit from it, I’ve been counting my calories, prioritizing protein (literally I used to eat maybe 30 grams a day, lately I’ve been getting almost 100 and it’s hard lol).

Prioritize protein, fiber, water.
Any other tips I may have missed?

Compounded to Wegovy

So I have been on the 2.5mg (highest dose) of compounded semaglutide for maintenance for probably over a year. Recently I’ve noticed a change in my appetite suppression and weight gain despite still being on the injection. So my doctor recommended switching to the brand name Wegovy. But he has to start me at the starting dose of 0.25mg. That’s a 90% decrease in dose. I’m SO worried about taking 4 months to titrate back up and what that’s going to do to my weight. Has anyone else gone through this and share their experience? Thank you so much!!

Compounded pharmacy

Hello,
I am interested in taking a glp and have to pay out of pocket for it. Has anyone used a compounded pharmacy? Which are cheapest but still safe? Located in the US.

When does it start working?

I've been taking the Wegovy pill for about a month and a half. Started on 1.5 mg now I'm about a week into 4 mg. I've taken it just as instructed, first thing in the morning, minimal water, and then about an hour wait before I have my coffee or more water. The first two weeks I went down about 3 pounds. Nothing lower than normal fluctuations. Now I'm at the higher end of my normal five pound fluctuation. I definitely have noticed less food noise, smaller portions and less snacking. I'm a pretty active person. I do volleyball/yardwork/bike rides/walks something everyday. However, my day is trapped at a desk. I've felt virtually no side effects, the first week I felt super tired and that was it. I got on this because I have felt stuck for years and it just feels like I'm still stuck. I do feel like my body looks less swollen, especially my face, but the scale hasn't moved. It just feels discouraging at the moment or I got a bung prescription due to the lack of side effects.

Just spent the last 7 hours manually removing faeces from my rectum.

I haven’t gone properly for a month. 2 weeks ago I started taking oral laxatives with not much happening besides loose faeces. Last week I began with fleets and suppositories again not much, small chunks here and there with loose frothy faeces again.

Last night I’d had enough, my stomach is so swollen and sore, I’ve got pain in my back too and ribs. Just misery. Cried most off the night. Decided to take both oral movivol a whole box, 6 kiwi fruits with the skin and multiple warm fleet enemas and my god it began. 7 hours of sheer hell!!!! Some small bits came out and then a huge bulge in my anus, absolutely rock hard!!! There was no way it was coming out as it was massive and I could feel it bulging all around I didn’t know what to even do so I had to get old kitchen gloves a metal straw and sit in the shower using the straw to break it apart bit by bit flushing it with warm water. Was like a horrific child birth, contracting and pains before
More faeces needing to be broken up with the straw while pushing. I’m still shaky and in a bit off shock I just experienced this.

Please folk.. you may think you are going a bit here and there but a plug is building higher up. I wasn’t even eating much and I can tell you the size of a doll or small newborn was built up.

So...I'm starting Wegovy today. Both for weight loss and arthritis. Any immediate advice?

I'm just wondering if there's anything I need to know that's obvious to you guys who have been on it for a while. I'm starting on the lowest dose as I'm on a bunch of other meds for my psoriatic arthritis and I don't want to spark any interactions or feel any worse than I do.

I guess I'm going to do it in the morning...or is night better? My husband is on Monjauro for diabetes and does it at night. And I know some do it on the weekend, but I'm also on weekly Methotrexate (Rasuvo) injections for my arthritis, so I guess I'll do them Sunday and Wednesday to split them up, as Methotrexate can also be difficult. (It's literally poison, in greater doses it's used as chemotherapy.)

Thanks!

Has anyone else felt like Wegovy stopped working?

I’ve been on Wegovy since January 2026 and I’ve been on the 2.4 mg dose since June. I started at 246 lbs and I’m currently around 205–208 lbs.

Since around mid-July, I feel like my food noise has come back. I think about food a lot more often and I constantly feel like I want to eat. However, once I actually eat, I still can’t eat very large portions, so I can definitely tell that the medication is still having an effect on my appetite/satiety.

Have you ever felt like Wegovy stopped working or that its effects became weaker over time? Can your body eventually get used to Wegovy and make it less effective?

I know that hitting a weight-loss plateau is completely normal at some point, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar.

2.4 vs 1.7 going back down?

Title, contemplating going back down to 1.7.

I felt like it worked. I couldnt over eat, greasy food actually made me sick and I didn't feel hungry again til a day or two before the next dose and I lost atleast 2 to 3 pounds per week.

Been on 2.4 for a month and 2 weeks and its a struggle. Haven't lost a pound yet. Food dont disgust me and im hungry at the end of the day.

I still walk 5 miles a day and eat right but its a struggle. The sweet tooth came back and Im eatting junk food again 😐

Maybe I should ask to go back to 1.7?

Or give it more time?

What were some of your experiences?

Thanks!

Please give me hope 😭 Did anyone not feel Wegovy until day 2?

Looking to hear from anyone who didn’t feel much the first day but noticed it kick in around day 2/48 hours after their first shot!
I’m about to hit 24 hours since my first dose, and so far I haven’t noticed much of a decrease in appetite or food noise. I’m wondering if there’s still a chance I could feel it more tomorrow around the 48-hour mark, or if what I’m feeling today is probably what I should expect for this dose.
I know everyone responds differently and that some people don’t notice much until higher doses, so I’m mainly looking for similar experiences. Did anyone feel basically nothing at 24 hours, then notice a clear difference around 48 hours? Hoping to hear some positive stories!

Do you feel like recovering from anything is harder on wegovy?

I started taking wegovy back in February, good results so far, however, I feel like since I started, it's been hard to bounce back from the usual seasonal bugs.

Stomach flu effects would last about 3 days for me before wegovy, when I had it this year, but this year it took me about 8 days.

Now I have a common flu, also something that would take 3 to 4 days to go away. I'm on day 7 already, with symptoms coming and going, like I feel I'm getting g better one day just to feel worst in the next one.

Anyone had the same experience? Do you relate it to wegovy?

Goal weight achieved

After 15 months, I’m happy to report I’m steadily at my goal weight. SW: 225 lbs CW: 165 lbs. I literally never imagined I’d be this weight again. I thought it was impossible. I’ve always been an active person and my numbers were generally good, so I thought this just must be how I look.

It feels so good to not shop in the plus size section anymore. Oh, and too actually be able to wear vintage! My body hurts less when I ask it to do more, which I’m also very appreciative of.

Stuff I don’t like… I do sometimes just straight up forget to eat, and I am not a nice person when that happens. I’m much sleepier than I was before, I nap on the couch pretty frequently. I have some loose skin I don’t love, though I’m happy to report the crepey skin on my neck has mostly disappeared after moisturizing well for several months.

I’m very grateful I had the opportunity to take this medication.

Holy heck, the hangover thing is real

I'd seen the warnings that GLP-1s can worsen the effects of alcohol, but I naively thought I would be fine having one cocktail last night, as my partner and I were celebrating a milestone. I had one small "skinny" margarita with Patron, which I sipped smugly over the course of 2 hours, sure that I had outsmarted the GLP-1 gods.

Well, I was wrong. Very wrong. I woke up during the night with a pounding headache, dry mouth, and restless limbs, and today, I feel legitimately hungover. Like laying on the couch all day hungover. I don't drink much anymore regardless of Wegovy, but this is how I used to feel if I had 5+ drinks in an evening. Ugh.

Lesson learned! Great motivation to just cut out alcohol entirely, I guess. What a humbling and fascinating experience.
