Wegovy - stay on 0.5 or increase to 1.0?

0.5 to 1.0 — stay or move up?
I’m finishing up my month on 0.5 Wegovy and trying to decide whether to stay at 0.5 another month or move up to 1.0. My coach suggested staying at 0.5 because I’m still having some mild side effects, but I’m leaning toward trying 1.0.
I only actually got sick (vomiting) after my very first 0.25 dose. Since then, I’ll occasionally have some mild nausea, usually a day or two after my shot, but I haven’t thrown up and have been able to manage it with Zofran. I’ve also had some constipation, but that’s been manageable too.
For those who had relatively mild/manageable side effects on 0.5, did you move up to 1.0 on schedule or stay at 0.5 longer? If you moved up, was there a big difference in side effects? Also, was there a significant difference in weight loss between 0.5 and 1.0? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Wegovy 0.5 side effects? Should I stay on 0.25?

I’m almost done with my first month of Wegovy (0.25 mg) and my provider is asking whether I want to stay at 0.25 for another month or increase my dose.

My experience so far:
First shot: nausea and vomiting about 22 hours after the injection.
Shots 2–4: no nausea or vomiting.
The only ongoing side effect has been constipation, which I’m managing pretty well with MiraLAX.

For those who had a similar experience, would you recommend increasing or staying at 0.25 for another month?

Also, if your only significant side effects were on the first shot, how did you do when you increased? Did the higher dose bring back nausea or make side effects worse, or was it pretty manageable?

I’d love to hear your experiences before I let my provider know what I want to do. Thanks!

Drinks on injection day

Looking for some advice from people with Wegovy experience!

I took my first 0.25 mg shot last Sunday night. I felt fine the rest of Sunday and most of Monday, but about 22 hours after the shot I got sick with vomiting and upper stomach cramping. Tuesday I had almost no appetite because of it, but by Wednesday I felt completely back to normal and have felt great ever since.

I was planning to take my second shot tonight after I get home. Last night I had a couple of vodka waters with a little Mio for flavor and felt completely fine today. I’m also supposed to go to a small gathering tonight and was thinking of having a couple of drinks (probably Super Lytes or Surfside canned vodka drinks—they’re not carbonated).

A couple questions:
If I got sick about 22 hours after my first shot, is it likely I’d get sick around the same timeframe after my second shot, or is it unpredictable?

Would you skip the alcohol tonight and have THC seltzers instead, or avoid both? I’m trying to make the best decision to avoid another rough night.

I’d love to hear what others experienced after their second shot. Thanks!

Vomiting after first dose

I took my first dose (0.25 injectable) last night and just threw up this evening (about 22 hours after the shot). I felt fine up until about 20 hours after the shot. Luckily, I had some zofran and ginger chews on hand, but now I’m afraid to eat anything. How long can I expect to have these side effects?

Timing my first Wegovy shot… am I overthinking this?

I’m supposed to start Wegovy 0.25 (my first GLP-1), and I’m debating whether I should take my first injection today or wait until after the holiday weekend.
The only reason I’m hesitant is because I have a few things coming up:

• I have no idea how my body is going to react, which has honestly been stressing me out pretty bad. I’ve heard some people have no side effects, while others get severe nausea, fatigue, etc.
• I work in an office and have client meetings during the week, so I’m a little nervous about feeling sick in the middle of a meeting.
• I’m leaving Thursday for a long weekend trip with friends for the holiday. We’ll definitely be drinking, and I’m wondering if I’d still be feeling the effects from my first dose and whether alcohol might make me feel worse.
• Part of me just wants to start already because I don’t want to keep putting it off. The other part of me is wondering if it would be smarter to wait until I get home and start on 7/5 or 7/6 instead.

What would you do if you were in my shoes? Anyone start right before a trip and regret it (or have no issues at all)?

Wegovy - when to start & side effects

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m about to take my very first Wegovy injection and I’m trying to figure out the best time to start.
I’m hoping to start in a way that lets me deal with any potential side effects over the weekend before I’m back in the office Monday. The only catch is I have an event to attend Friday night, so I’m trying to decide whether to take it Friday morning or wait until after.

A few questions:
What time of day do you inject (morning vs. evening)?

Do side effects usually start the same day as the injection, or the next day?

When did you first notice appetite suppression (injection day, next day, etc)?

If I inject Friday morning, is there a good chance I’ll still be able to enjoy the event, dinner, and a couple of drinks that night, or am I asking for trouble? 😂

I’d also love any tips for making the first week go as smoothly as possible. Thanks in advance!

New to GLP-1. Need all the tips!

Hi everyone!
I just picked up Wegovy (my first GLP-1 ever), and while I’ve done a lot of research, I’d love to hear from people who’ve actually been through it.
I’d appreciate any tips you wish you knew before starting! A few specific questions:
What day of the week did you start? I work Monday-Friday in an in-person, client-facing job, so I’m trying to plan around any side effects.
What time of day do you inject? Morning, afternoon, or before bed?
What’s the best way to reduce or avoid nausea? Foods to eat, foods to avoid, hydration tips, electrolytes, protein, etc.?
**Could someone share what a typical day of eating looks like, specifically to try and avoid side effects?**Approximate meal/snack times and portion sizes would be super helpful.)
Where do you inject? Stomach, thigh, or arm? Did you notice a difference in side effects and results depending on the injection site?
Do you pinch/squeeze the fat when injecting, or just press the pen flat against your skin?
How soon after the injection do side effects usually start? Are they worst on injection day, the next day, or a few days later?
What side effects did you experience at the beginning, and how long did they last?
Any products that were lifesavers? (Protein shakes, electrolyte drinks, fiber, ginger chews, anti-nausea remedies, etc.)
What are some mistakes you made that you’d tell a beginner to avoid?
Basically, if you could go back and give yourself advice before your very first injection, what would it be?

Thanks so much! I’m excited but definitely a little nervous. 😊
