My phone keeps coming unplugged

Huawei P20 Lite, USB-C connection. The plug won't stay locked in often.

It's not a cable issue as it happens with any. I asked a tech repair shop about cleaning the port but they said it doesn't need cleaning. I do need a new phone one of these days but they aren't exactly penny sweets.

Should I stop using Samsung password manager?

So I’ve been using Samsung Password Manager (Samsung Pass app) for as long as I can remember, but lately I’ve started to question whether I should move to a third-party option instead, mostly due to its lack of cross-platform support and some everyday usability issues.

From a security and convenience standpoint, Samsung Pass isn’t necessarily unsafe. The Samsung Pass app works well on Samsung devices, with biometric login and Knox-based security, so for basic everyday use it’s easy to rely on. At the same time, it doesn’t feel very flexible when it comes to moving your data. Exporting or switching away isn’t as straightforward, which makes it feel like you’re a bit locked in compared to a dedicated password manager.

That said, the bigger issue for me is how limited it feels in practice. Samsung Pass mainly works inside Samsung’s ecosystem, which doesn’t match how I actually use my devices - I switch between a phone, PC, different browsers, and other platforms. Because of that, not having smooth access to my passwords everywhere becomes frustrating, and it starts to feel restrictive rather than helpful for a password manager.

On top of that, there are smaller but still noticeable issues, like autofill not always working properly or difficulty accessing saved data outside certain apps. Over time, these add up and make Samsung Pass feel more like a built-in convenience feature than a complete password manager solution. When I compare that to paid password manager options that offer proper cross-platform support and more control, the Samsung Pass app starts to feel like a compromise rather than something I can rely on long-term.

So at this point, I’m leaning toward switching to a different password manager, but I’m still unsure if it’s really worth it or which direction to go.

I’ve been comparing a few options using a table I found on Reddit, but I’d be interested to hear what others are using - what you like, what you don’t, and whether switching was actually worth it.

Force Running APK's on a locked down Device

I have OneUi 7.0 and a locked down Android: 15 (Its a Gabb thingy). I know it uses Knox Guard, and a bunch of things are blocked by administrator.

Is there any way to force run an APK (Probably aurora) on it, I'm sick of having a useless phone.

Anything helps, even if it doesn't work!

Find deleted text messages

Help! I accidentally deleted a text message from an employer im trying to get a job from. I don't want to look incompetent right off the bat by having to ask her to resend it. I don't even know if its possible. I would be eternally grateful with any suggestions. Thank you!!!

If I clear my google app data, would i have to log into my google account using password again?

I have an adware on one of my accounts and I've been recommended to delete the cache and data from chrome and google. But i have like 7 different accounts and i don't even remember the passwords of them. So I'm curious if I'd have to relogin again

Any way to force using a preferred Wi-Fi band ?

My router uses band steering, meaning both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands share the same SSID and the router decides which band your device connects to. The problem is it almost never picks 5GHz — I checked Connectivity Labs and I'm on 5GHz only about <=5%, even when I'm standing right next to the router. This is slashing my Wi-Fi speeds by over 50%.

Is there any way on the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE running Android 16 / One UI 8.5 to force the phone to prefer or exclusively use the 5GHz band? Hidden setting, developer option, third-party app — anything goes.

Good lock - can the Theme Park keyboard work with anything else besides the google/Samsung keyboard?

I love the extreme customization for the keyboard in Theme Park but I was really disappointed after taking the time to create one when it said it will only work with the google/Samsung keyboard. Are there any others (possible through f-droid) that this can work with? I don't like the google/Samsung keyboard bc it doesn't auto-cap "I", its auto predict and auto correct are absolutely terrible, you have to go back and fix capitalization/spelling/spacing issues CONSTANTLY, it sends data to google, and all around it's much worse compared to others, like SwiftKey. Ideally, I would love it if this could work with a private keyboard, like Heliboard. Does anyone know if it can?

Is there any way to change the speed of transitions on Android 16 *without* turning on developer mode?

I just updated my thinkphone from Android 15 to 16, and I absolutely hate how sluggish the transitions feel (going to home screen, switching between apps, closing browser tabs, etc), and while I can fix it on developer mode, I frequently use apps that flat out do not work with developer mode enabled, so I would love to know if there's a workaround here. TIA.

Why does ANC work perfectly but my mic still sends all background noise to callers?

Android user with a decent pair of earbuds. The ANC works well: commuting, office, anywhere I need to block stuff out, it handles it.

But any time I take a call, the person on the other end hears whatever environment I'm in. The ANC that works for me does nothing for what the mic sends to them.

Had a call from my mom while I was in a grocery store. She asked three times if I was somewhere safe because she could hear 'so much going on.' Just a grocery store at 3pm.

Is this an Android thing, an earbuds limitation, or a Bluetooth issue? I've tried different call apps thinking it was the app but it happens across all of them. Is there any actual fix or is this just how earbuds work for calls?

Phone repeatedly dings that it's finished charging

My phone makes a gentle "ding" sound when it finishes charging. But within the last week, it has reached some issue where it reaches 100%, makes the ding, and then some 20 seconds later (estimate) it dings again. And then again. It wakes me up in the middle of the night.

I'm not sure where to even go to trouble shoot this; is there an app that is draining my battery so bad that it keeps having to recharge itself? Is there a way to silence this notification or at least put a cap on how often it does this?

I went into my settings but couldn't find anything useful.

"Silent" mode and vibration intensity

Explain to me, Android owners (*Samsung in particular), why there is a "silent" mode and vibration intensity, if when the "silent" mode is on, there is no vibration at all, but the vibration intensity is still available and even shows that vibration is at maximum?

My wife phone and mine started syncing clipboards, what is happening???

My wife has a Xiaomi 14T Pro and I have a Xiaomi 15 phone, today we noticed that every single text we copy on each phone is immediately available to be pasted on the other phone.

for example if I type "I want pizza" on my Xiaomi 15 and I select the text and I copy it in that same moment my wife can paste that same text on her Xiaomi 14T Pro and vise versa, it does not matter were on the phone we type, it can be google, WhatsApp, the notepad, etc, etc it's just as soon as we copy text it becomes available to be pasted on the other phone.

No we did not make any changes before today, we just went to sleep and when we woke up we noticed weird things with the clipboard on our phones and while we investigated we noticed that the clipboard is shared somehow.

Does anyone have any idea what is happening????

My usb-c is as bad as usb-a

When charging, I have a 50-50 chance of inserting it the "right way" without it telling me it's slow and to check my connection. Is it just my Galaxy S22 Ultra, or is this common?

Can I block settings app completely? S24 ultra

I'm trying to use a dns to limit internet access but haven't found a way to block settings app in a way to be unable to change the dns setting. Im using appblock but it's just slow enough to be able to tap a button before blocking the screen. Meaning you can make your way to dns settings and change them. I've also tried routines to close settings when I open it. That also has a slight delay so same issue. I can tap a button then hit home before the close settings triggers. Digital wellbeing doesn't allow me to set a timer on the settings app which would be perfect since that wouldn't let me open the app at all. Anyone know a solution?

Is there a way to use an old Android as a Chromecast?

Hi folks, sometimes I think about my old smartphones and I just can't stand that they're full computers and somehow they're useless now. Do you know a way to give them another life and use it as a Chromecast? I have a pretty decent tv but apps like Disney+ and HBO Max are no more available, and it would be nice to use them as a "brain" to this old dumb tv.
