Is it normal for Gboard to use nearly 17 GB of data in a month?! (15 GB in the background)

Hey everyone,

Just checked my Wi-Fi data usage for the past month and noticed something absurd: Gboard consumed 16.9 GB of data, with almost 15 GB running purely in the background.

For context:

I'm not doing anything unusual with the keyboard (no mass GIF sending 24/7 or heavy offline dictation downloads that I know of).

The screenshots show it's literally taking second place right under YouTube ReVanced in data usage.

Has anyone else experienced this bug recently? Could it be a stuck offline language pack download, some telemetry loop, or just a glitch with the data usage counter?

Would appreciate any insights or fixes before I just restrict background data completely and wipe app storage.

How can I get my scale to sync weight data to Mi Fitness directly from Mi Home?

I want to be able to track my weight in the Mi Fitness app using my scale(s400), but so far I haven't found a way to do this. Does this feature actually exist at all?

So I drop voltage by ~200mV, downclock by 700MHz, and literally nothing changes except temps and power consumption?! WHAT?!

I'm confused. Is this silicon lottery, or is the Blackwell architecture actually just this good?

I know this is a weird question, but still... Is it better to connect the GPU using a native 12VHPWR cable or an adapter?"

[Build Help] Upgrade dilemma: RTX 5070 (12GB) vs 5060 Ti (16GB) vs jumping to AM5/LGA1851?

Hey guys. I recently upgraded to a 1440p monitor. My RTX 5060 isn't exactly choking yet, it's still fine if I juggle the settings around, but I can definitely feel the VRAM headroom drying up. Money is a bit tight right now, so I'm trying to figure out the smartest move.

My current rig:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
MB: Asus Prime B550M-K
RAM: 32GB Kingston Fury 3200MHz
GPU: RTX 5060 (I mostly play stuff like Helldivers 2, Warhammer 40k: SM2, KCD2, Dota 2).

I'm torn between three options:

  1. RTX 5070 12GB. I really like its raw performance, but that 12GB buffer is a major turn-off. Some games are already allocating 11GB+ at 1440p. I'm worried that if I want to turn on Ray Tracing, I'll end up in the exact same VRAM-starved situation I'm in right now with my 8GB 5060.
  2. RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. The 16GB buffer is great, but the chip is weak for 1440p. I'd definitely have to rely on every available tech like DLSS and Frame Gen to boost performance, and I honestly have no idea how long those tricks will keep this card viable at this resolution.
  3. Skip the GPU upgrade and jump to AM5 or LGA1851. Yeah, I know it won't give me more FPS right now, but at least I'll be on a fresh modern platform. Then I can just upgrade the GPU later when Nvidia announces the Super lineup or the 6000 series.

What makes the most sense here? Let me know what you guys think.

Edit: I forgot to clarify a very important detail, I am looking to buy a GPU on the used market.

To those suggesting a 9070 or 9070 XT, please don't. In my country, a used 9070 starts at $670.

I'm looking for a card for $600 max, ideally $500-600. And yes, you can actually find a 5070 for this price if you haggle well, but only a dual-fan model.

The 5060 Ti 16GB is mostly sold for $550, but it can be haggled down below $500.

I'm even considering an RTX 4070 Super right now, simply because it still has 1.5 years of warranty left at $590 and it's a triple-fan model (ASUS RTX 4070 Super Prime).

Interestingly, the RX 9060 XT is mostly selling for $450 in almost any variant.
