The Earth still loves us
The Earth still loves us. Despite all the damage we do to it, it still takes care of us.
My example: I’m from a small southern city in Ukraine, and we used to see snow maybe for two hours a year. Sometimes for two days, but on different days. Basically, during all my conscious childhood, we didn’t really have snow in winter.
But after the full-scale invasion, it was March, and we didn’t have enough water. We would have run out of it if, for the first time in six years, it hadn’t snowed for a week and a half.
We collected that snow and boiled it over a fire so we could have water.
After that, for a long time, water was flowing through the pipes. Not the safest water, but during war you don’t get to be picky.
I never thought about it before, but it feels like the planet somehow knew and took care of its children, making sure we at least had water.
