Meta AI Glasses devs are quietly building some genuinely useful stuff — here's what's live right now

We've been keeping an eye on what people are shipping for Meta AI Glasses and honestly the range is bigger than we expected. A few standouts:

Getting around: Ski Map and Peaks if you want nav info without pulling your phone out mid-run or mid-hike.

Games you can play hands-free: Runchkin, Bbang, Ping Rally, Poker Odds, and Display Bowling — yeah, bowling. On your glasses.

Just poking around the world: Sniffabouts and Grow a Flower turn random moments into little discovery/growth mechanics, low-key charming.

Sound/music stuff: Spatial Chords is worth a look if you're into audio experiments.

Quick utility, glanceable: Changeover and Codex Micro Webapp for when you just need something fast without breaking flow.

Feels like we're still early on what these glasses can actually do day-to-day, but this is a decent snapshot of where things are at. Curious what other people have found.

Curious how CLAD works? Explore it during the CLAD Summer Hackathon.

Closed Loop Agentic Development (CLAD) is an AI-powered workflow built into Lens Studio and optimized for SPECS. It helps you move from idea to finished Lens by supporting the full development loop:

Design ➡️ Build ➡️ Test ➡️ Repeat.

No coding skills required.

A single prompt can be enough for CLAD to create a working Lens, test it, and iterate until it meets the requirements. It can also break down complex tasks, use specialized tools, and help optimize existing projects.

Whether you’re an experienced Developer or just starting with spatial experiences, CLAD opens up new ways to build for SPECS – without needing a device.

Be among the first to experiment with this workflow during the hackathon, and win real-life prizes

🔄 Lens Update if you've got something worth pushing further.

🌍 Open Source if you'd rather hand something back to the community than compete solo.

💡 All three are equally valid entries.

➡️ New Lens

💰 Up to $14,000 in prizes

📅 Deadline: August 31st

💬 Ask me anything about past winners or what judges tend to look for — happy to dig through the thread with you.

Be among the first des that build for SPECS — without a device. 🕶️

Welcome to the Summertime CLAD Hackathon 🏆

Over 4 weeks, starting August 10th, we’re hosting a brand-new hackathon, inviting developers, creators and all creative technologists to explore a new AI-powered workflow for creating spatial experiences with Closed Loop Agentic Development (CLAD).

The idea is simple: You don't code it. You prompt it.

This challenge is perfect for both beginners and experienced developers who want to experiment with new features in Lens Studio and see what SPECS can do, even before the launch.

The best part? You don’t need the hardware!

Starting 🗓️ AUGUST 10, a new theme will be announced each week, giving you 4 opportunities to test your ideas and win real-life prizes.

❓ What is CLAD?

Closed Loop Agentic Development (CLAD) is a suite of AI agents and tools built into Lens Studio and optimized for SPECS. It helps you design, build, test, and publish Lenses faster. With a single prompt, CLAD can generate a working Lens, test and refine it automatically, and tackle complex tasks by breaking them into smaller steps—acting as your AI co-developer throughout the entire development process.

📅 THEME CALENDAR

Week 1 – Organize: Turn chaos into a spatial to-do list
Week 2 – Guide: Teach anything in the air, in real time
Week 3 – Connect: Bring people into the same space, virtually
Week 4 – Create: Make the tool that makes the thing

🏆 PRIZES

🥇 1st: $1,000
🥈 2nd: $500
🥉 3rd: $200

Register now, complete your CLAD setup, and get ready to build. You only need to register once to participate in all four weekly challenges.

We looked through some early Meta Glasses projects

We’ve been checking out some of the early projects people are building for the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses.

Still super early obviously, but a few ideas genuinely surprised us.

Wondering what kind of apps/features people actually want from glasses like these.
