Are you guys finally happy with the amount of AI trading solutions out there?

Asking this question because for a few years that I have been following this subreddit I have seen a countless number of you who begged for a good AI trading thing to come out, 'the true ai in trading please' is what you said. So I am wondering if the community now is satisfied with things which are coming out? Or have we still not gotten what you guys expect this to be?

Please also share cool projects which you are using now, and please don't share your 'I asked my Claude to make me a trading bot'.

Love you all!

Here is how 'above average effect' psychological bias ruining your trading.

For those of you who do not know my usual posts, I have been trading for a while manually before switching to automated solutions. During my trading tenure because of my background I was deciphering trader's psychology to understand the big mystery of why 90% of traders lose money. I am now sometimes sharing some of my findings with this or other trading communities.

One 2 month exploration rabbit hole lead me to connect the very well known 'above average effect' to the trading world. The 'above average effect' basically means that 70-90% of people think that they are above average in some skill or ability when compared to an average person. Similar to if I would ask you, do you think you are an above average driver, you are 70-90% likely to say 'yes'.

Now when it comes to trading, I doubt that many new traders when entering this world have no idea about the fact that 90% of traders lose money over the long run. Almost everybody knows this statistics, and yet, despite these odds they/you still enter trading with the hope that you are mong the 10% and not the 90%, you are the one who is going to make it if you just persevere. Factually this is not true, and you are more likely to blow up your account before departing this world forever.

You see, in other categories of passions the 'above average effect' is not dangerous, so what if you believe that you are above average looking, so what if you believe that you are an above average chess player, this does not have danger. But when it comes to trading, this effect leads to people losing their life savings, perhaps divorcing their partner, or losing hope in making it in this life.

I am not sharing this information to discourage you from trading, not at all. I would just like you to be aware of this when you are constructing big plans for your life which revolve around you being able to succeed in trading. Simply be mindful of the fact that perhaps you are average, or you are below average. And yes this might hurt your ego, but as a result you might make better decisions.

I think I am below average fyi, so you are not alone here m8.

What’s the optimal stop loss distance?

Hey I have been building quant and AI trading system for several years and we see that the optimal stop loss distance for them is usually between 4-5 ATR. I have come across this video, not sure if legit or not claiming that long stop should be 8ATR away and short ones 1ATR away.

https://youtu.be/8GvAt2VJFGY?si=dS6zUkWsIDhRTjme

I wonder what you people have found to be the optimal distance in ATR? Pls reply only if you are a profitable trader or have a profitable trading system.
