Stepford Victoria Branch and Metro Idea
Had this idea for a while since Stepford Victoria is based off Charing Cross and decided to make a post about it. My map is obvs not to scale, but should give a general idea.
My idea is to have Stepford Victoria be on a branch of the Stepford Main Line, serving as an alternative to Stepford Central. A new intermediate station based off Waterloo East would be built (labelled Trinity Way on my map.)
The alignment of the line to Financial Quarter will be adjusted to run more southerly than it currently does and Connect will no longer serve FQ and CH. SV will still be served by Metro via the Stepford Loop (which could potentially use tram-trains.) New Metro-exclusive rail lines could be built serving the south of Stepford.
This would solve the complaints that SV is useless due to its proximity to SC on the same routes. However, it would also make it easier for Metro and its tram-train to expand without having to encroach in the territory of other operators.
Because routes to SV do not pass through the Beechley Triangle anymore, Metro and Connect trains could also be separated west of SC as well, reducing congestion (though players driving the free Connect routes will already be moved away from the Beechley Triangle due to the relocation of SV.)
The devs could also just rebuild Stepford Victoria, which I believe is more likely. Still, what do you think of this idea?
