How to find low competition scholarships in 2026.

Starting to feel like applying for scholarships is turning into a numbers game where everybody is chasing the exact same ones. I will spend hours filling out applications, writing essays and tracking deadlines just to find out theres probably thousands of other students applying too.

Half the scholarship sites I find either send me in circles or keep showing the same huge national scholarships everyone already knows about. Tbh I cant even tell which ones are worth putting time into anymore?

At this point I am just trying to find smaller scholarships that dont have thousands of people applying to them too. how are people even finding those in 2026 without spending hours searching every night?

For the past month, I have been pretty consistent with scholarship applications. I made a plan to apply to at least 2 to 3 per week, and I have stuck to it. So far I have applied to 12. Out of those, I have gotten 4 rejections, and the rest have not responded yet. No wins.

At the beginning, I was motivated and kind of excited about the process. Now it is starting to feel different. Every rejection feels a bit heavier, and the silence from the others does not help either.

I keep going back and questioning everything. My GPA is around 3.5, I have extracurriculars, part time work experience, so I thought I'd at least have a decent shot somewhere. I even tried to be efficient by reusing essays, but now I am wondering if that is hurting me.

It is frustrating because I feel like I am doing what I am supposed to do, but I am not seeing any results yet. I do not want to quit because I know this probably takes time, but it is getting harder to stay motivated.

What advice would you give to someone like me?
