Has anyone else had issues with Rakuten UK referral bonuses?

I’ve been chasing referral bonuses for around 6 months. The referrals tracked correctly and remained pending, and had never had issues previously…But despite multiple contacts with support I was only recently informed via a Trustpilot response that Rakuten had suspended my account for alleged referral programme abuse.

After reviewing the referral terms, I can see they prohibit posting referral links on forum pages, which may be the reason. My frustration is that I was never told this directly despite months of chasing the issue.

“Posting your referral link on any page that is not owned and controlled by you, including, but not limited to, any merchant, Facebook, or forum page.”

Has anyone else had referral bonuses withheld or accounts suspended? If so, were you given an explanation at the time?
