I just got a new Schott PER62 in size M. I'm 5'9" (175 cm) and 174 lbs (79 kg), and I usually wear size M in normal clothes.

The shoulders fit perfectly, but the body is super tight. I can only wear a T-shirt under it. If I try to wear a sweater, I can't even zip it up. Should I swap it for a Large, or is it supposed to be this tight?

Also, I have a used Schott in size 40 from eBay. It’s super soft and smells like nice leather. But this new one is really stiff and has a strong, chemical smell.

Will this new jacket break in and get softer/smell better, or should I just return it?
