Air Force 1 + flat feet + Sneaker Shield issues?
Hi everyone!
I’ve just got my first pair of Air Force 1s. Up until now, I’ve worn Dunks, and I never had this kind of issue with them.
I naturally have large feet and flat feet, so I find the stock Air Force 1 insole pretty damn uncomfortable, although I’m slowly getting used to it. On top of that, my sneaker shield presses against my bunion, even though this shield never bothered me in my Dunks.
(By the way, I think my bunion is fairly normal—not severe or anything unusual.)
The only explanation I can think of is that, because of my flat feet, the raised insole pushes my foot higher inside the shoe than it would for someone without flat feet.
What would you recommend in this situation?
I’m thinking about removing the stock insole and replacing it with a simpler, flatter one. I’ve also been looking at the Crep Protect Sneaker Shields (Gel Tech), which supposedly have a softer inner lining.
Does anyone have experience with them in Air Force 1s?
What insoles would you recommend for flat feet that provide good comfort without squeezing the foot, but also aren’t too thick?
Would it be more worthwhile to try the more expensive shield, or is replacing the insole likely to make a bigger difference?
Thanks in advance for your help!
