Looking for Studio Apartment in NY - Long Term

I’m a 29-year-old male looking for a studio apartment anywhere in NYC. I’m looking to move in around mid-to-late November and am looking for a long-term lease.

Details:

  • Annual income: $47,133
  • Credit score: 590
  • Studio apartment only
  • Living alone
  • Flexible on borough/neighborhood
  • Need reasonable access to Manhattan
  • Looking for a long-term lease
  • Move-in: Mid-to-late November

I understand my income and credit score may make the search more difficult, so I’m open to legitimate options that may have different qualification requirements.

If you know of any available studios, landlords, buildings, or resources that might be a good fit, please feel free to comment or DM me.

NYC struggles

I’ll try to make a long story short:

I (28M) was at a cross roads, I had the opportunity to accept a job relevant to my background or accept a role as a superintendent, where I was told I would be a live-in super. I think anyone in NYC would take the live-in super role because of the apartment (Silly me didn’t get this in writing). Anyways, I took the role. The expectations set from my employer were they needed time to find me an apartment, told me it would take 2-4 weeks. That turned into wait until the probation period expires (3 months). That turned into 6 months. Fast forward, 9 months in, & every conversation, every inquiry around the apartment gets buried.

I sought out free legal consultation & was told I could be entitled to something in terms of compensation/housing, BUT there’s a chance I would get fired if Im caught circumventing my manager & seeking action internally. I rather have something lined up before transitioning and I can’t afford to lose my only stream of income.

I’m living check to check, missing out on jobs that are relevant to my background because after the first round interview goes well, I remind myself I’m still tethered to my company & this role. I figure let me get a second job, but I can’t find anything flexible enough for me. My current commute to work is 1 hour 45 minutes so that’s factored into commuting just about anywhere.

I guess with this post I’m seeking two things:

  1. Any advice on how to navigate my situation
  2. I work M-F, 9-5. I need work relatively close to me that is flexible (I don’t have a car or bike)

Desire to Dive Deeper into Options

I currently work full-time as a superintendent. With the role, comes some liberty — I’d like to optimize my time by trying to make extra money. I have some investments in etfs, I have done some day trading and options trading — nothing major, but I have about a year & a 1/2 of knowledge.

What did the first 3 months look like on your journey and when did you notice things shift in your options trading journey?

Just seeking some help with my development. I am also looking for discords and I enjoy active discord communities that are a resource.
