2026 SE Down
Hi y'all! Long-time silent reader here, but I have read all different kinds of stories on the '26 Tiguan, primarily focusing on the R-Lines with the Turbo. Even so, I still bit the bullet and purchased a '26 Tiguan SE AWD.
I picked it up today, and not even 15 minutes down the road from the dealership, the car completely stalls after waiting at a light with all the lights on the dash. Fortunately, I was able to pull her over, but there were about 7 alerts.
With my Taos, I had EPC issues that the dealership could never replicate, but I knew if I turned the car off and back on it'll fix itself lol. So, I did exactly that. After 10 minutes, I turned it back on and was able to bring it back to the dealership.
I want to emphasize that I did a lot of reading on how to take care of your engine, specifically the first 1,000 miles break-in period. So, by no means necessary was I flying or shotgunning RPMs. Ultimately, I picked it up with 11 miles, and by 32 miles, it's already back at the dealership.
Additional context, because I knew they had a problematic launch, I purchased the VW Drive Easy Service Contract for 10yr/100k miles. I'm hoping for the best-case scenario, like a software update. However, the advisor told me they're currently working on another car where they can't replicate the issue. Because of this, I'm just wondering what happens if the car is in the shop longer than 14 days? Could I possibly ask for a different unit?
Things I Noticed:
-Fuel Range Discrepancy: I left the dealership with a range of 630 miles in fuel. I don't know if that's truly accurate or if the vehicle metrics were in km, but I noticed that was extremely high. Consequently, it dropped drastically for only truly going 21 miles.
-Gear Shifter Restriction: When I stalled out and got the car to park, I was then only able to move the gear shifter to neutral.
