Want to get into clubs, dk what to get

Hi,

Gonna cut to the chase I only have steel clubs available in kg here. Ordering from another country is gonna wreck my with taxation and importing, so it's a no go.

I am unsure of what to get.
4kg and 41,5 cm / 8.8lbs 16.14inches

6kg and 46 cm / 13.2lbs 18.11 inches

No experience with clubs or any such implements. I can however bottoms up press a 16kg kettlebell for 1 rep, and on a good day at about 6-8 reps for a single 32kg kettlebell press. If that matters at all.

I plan on getting 3-4 clubs over the next year or two, don't mind higher reps. I will not be using pairs most likely, and I do plan on doing both single arm and two arm club work in the long term.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Thank you!

Transitioning to kettlebell training

Hello there,

I am gonna do almost all kettlebells from now on, except for back strength...

I've noticed something a bit odd, I can zercher squat a lot more weight than I can do front rack squat.
I can press more weight than with kettlebells.
I feel my core a lot more, and I find little weak links constantly - overhead squatting for example, or bent pressing...

For example I can press the 32kg for reps, but cannot rack squat 16+24 for more than 2 reps... My legs are not the issue as I can bulgarian split squat more than that...

I've tried those core exercises like renegade rows, rack/overhead/suitcase position marches and carries and they are a lot harder than I thought...

There's probably more, but don't want to bore you overall...

I've got 3 questions:

  1. Anyone else experience this? Just finding constant weak links, etc...

  2. I bought a 16kg, a 24kg and 32kg and want to know if I should double the 16 and 24 or get 2x20kg? Cost is the same, adjustable ain't happening - I hate any type of adjustable weight, my db's are just collecting dust. The reason I'm considering 2x20 is Dan John's recommendation, but I feel like 2x16 and 2x24 is just a better buy, then again idk as I lack experience here. Feeling like the double 16 and double 24 would make a fine addition to my collection

  3. Are snatches, swings and jerk enough for posterior chain development?

Thank you!

Interested in starting strength

Hey,

I wanted to ask for people's experience with this program. I've trained mostly calisthenics and I think I have decent upper body strength ~ 20 pull ups, I can ohp 64kg/144lbs for 7 reps, curls are a 100lbs for 6... For legs bulgarian split squats 40kg for 10, hyperextension 32kg for sets of 5... I'm male 28, 178cm/ 5foot 10, 180lbs/80kg

I am interested in becoming overall stronger, however I do want to improve my pull up and curl strength as I enjoy them. I also do want overall hypertrophy, never gonna compete in a powerlifting meet in my life, just wanna be strong and look good.

Think this program will fit me?

And how have your results been? Both physique and strength

Thanks to whoever takes the time to reply to me.

Also I hope the tag I posted under is appropriate, if not, let me know and I'll try to change it if possible.

How do you structure kettlebell workouts?

Hey,

I want to know if there are any good books or guidelines on how to structure kettlebell workouts for different goals.

I'd like to use them more in my workouts, but I am atm focused on hypertrophy and strength and unsure how to incorporate them.

Delt strength and planche, + ring dip question

Hey,

I am asking this out of curiosity, but when we look at planche as an exercise to me it seems that for the most part anterior delts, scapula protraction and straight arms are the main "movers".

How far could you get if you just did ohp/hspu + straight arm holds with dumbbells and scapula push ups?

I also wanted to ask - unrelated to above - when it comes to ring dips, I am facing 1 problem, I can't really do them weighted. My rings are on a doorframe pull up and it's not the best for absolute weight. Would RTO(through the whole range of motion) dips be a good hypertrophy exercise?

Thanks!!!
