I've owned a snake plant for a couple years now without issue. Recently, some of the shoots have started to fall over — including this one, which obviously has withered away near the base and is no longer viable.

A couple months ago I pulled everything out of the pot to inspect the roots for rot and found no evidence of it. The roots are not extensive, but I've read that's typical for this plant. I water only at the beginning of each month, so I can't imagine I'm giving it too much water. Does it need more?
