I’m a leathercrafter based in Brisbane, Australia, and just finished this vertical bifold with a pretty warm all-Italian leather combo. Well, actually I made it for fun a bit ago and then realized I never posted it! Woops.

The exterior is Metta Catharina, a hatch-grain shell cordovan from Shell Cordovan Toscana Italia. It has that embossing representative of traditional Russian-inspired hatch texture, with a red-brown colour that has a lot of depth and variation depending on the light.

For the interior I used Gaucho Oil in Iroko Bourbon from Conceria La Bretagne in Tuscany. It has a glossy pull-up finish with a bit more consistency, and I thought the brighter bourbon colour paired really nicely with the shell exterior.

This bifold layout has two vertical card pockets, one horizontal card slot, and two hidden pockets behind the card panels. It should hold around 6–8 cards plus some cash folded once, with a bit more room as it breaks in.

Everything is hand-cut, saddle-stitched, heat creased, bevelled, and burnished, live, by me, in my flat in Brisbane. It’s stitched with Vinymo MBT #8 in medium brown (Toast) to keep the whole colour palette warm.

I just finished an interesting looking bifold that is up for grabs. The exterior is a Metta Catarina shell from Shell Cordovan Toscana Italia. This one is a special marbled brown with reddish hues, in a hatch grain reminiscent of old school Russian leather. The interior is a dark brown Italian vegtan from MPG Industria Conciaria called Apollo.

My vertical bifolds are made to hold 6-8 cards and some folded cash and would work great as a minimalist front pocket wallet! This one has a bit of fun contrast between the textured hatch grain and the smooth interior leathers. Plus, the tannery stamp from the shell cordovan is quite visible in the inside!

Edges are heat creased and burnished, and are stitched together with japanese Vinymo MBT #8 in cigar.

What I especially like about this combo is that the shell gives a warm caramel tone with a lot of depth and character, while the clean and darker Apollo keeps the overall look grounded.

I'm a solo leathercrafter based in Brisbane, Australia. I've been mostly making wallets that combine sleek Italian leathers with more rugged Aussie leather, typically kangaroo.

For this one I stuck with Italian vegetable tanned leather, and it was requested to have a coin purse on one side so I gave that a go as well. Overall, I think it came out well!

It's a classic bifold build with 3 card pockets, full cash slot, and modified to have a coin purse with a brass metal snap button. The two side panels also work as hidden pockets for extra cards, receipts, or folded documents. It should hold roughly 7-9 cards and cash from the start, with a bit more room once the leather breaks in. I didn't test how many coins it could hold, but enough for a day's change I'm sure.

The wallet was made with two different thicknesses of Apollo leather from MPG Industria Conciaria in Italy. It has a smooth, glossy surface with a really nice depth of colour.

It's stitched with Japanese Vinymo thread, and all edges have been heat creased, bevelled, and burnished by hand.

I liked the contrast between the cleaner exterior and the warmer, more textured interior.

It's stitched with Japanese Vinymo thread, and all edges have been heat creased, bevelled, and burnished by hand.

I just finished a vertical bifold with a pretty fun colour combo. This one is using a mint green leather called Azteca from one of my favourite Italian tanneries Conceria La Perla Azzura. It's relatively firm, has a buffed texture like pueblo, but still glossy and a bit more resistant to smudges. The interior is as usual a high grade, full grain, kangaroo leather that's been stuffed with fats and oil for a supple feel.

It's a traditional bifold build with six pockets and a cash slot. The two card slot panels are also hidden pockets for additional cards or folded documents. It was also requested that there be an additional flap to hold an ID card and another card slot. It can hold roughly 12 cards and cash off the bat and perhaps more once broken in.

The exterior is a chestnut Italian veg tan, and the interior is a whiskey kangaroo leather from my local tannery Packer Leather here in Queensland. It's stitched with a Vinymo Japanese thread in a cigar brown color, and all edges have been heat creased and burnished.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out, and hope the person who it was ordered for enjoys it for a long time!

This was made with leather from Conceria La Bretagne in Tuscany, Italy. Gaucho Oil is a vegetable tanned leather that comes out very glossy and sleek. It's absolutely beautiful. The exterior is natural tan and the interior is in a colour called Iroko bourbon.

The design holds 6-8 cards off the bat along with some half folded notes.

Edges have been heat creased and burnished to a glossy shine. And the wallet has been stitched together with Vinymo #8 in Cigar to match the exterior.

Hey everyone,

I haven't posted here in a while but I wanted to share a wallet I made using this leather I used for the first time! It's a mint green leather from Conceria La Perla Azzura called Azteca. It's a similar look to pueblo but definitely a bit more glossy, I don't have to worry as much about smudging it. And the color really makes it pop!

What is your favorite buffed or pueblo-like leather to use? Between this one and a buffed version of gaucho oil, I might be leaning toward Azteca.

Just had a bit of time this week to make this vertical bifold using two awesome leathers. Starting to actually use other leathers instead of kangaroo for the interiors. This one was a commission!

The exterior is a hatch grain natural tan horse culatta (rump) leather from Shell Cordovan Toscana Italia. It has a lot of character and shows some natural marks through the embossed pattern.

The interior is a green gaucho oil leather from Conceria La Bretagne. Gaucho oil is a super glossy and pretty leather with a slight pull up!

The design holds 6-8 cards off the bat along with some half folded notes.

Edges have been heat creased and burnished to a glossy shine. And the wallet has been stitched together with Vinymo #8 in Cigar to match the exterior.

Finally it's stitched together with a Japanese Vinymo thread #8 in cream, heat creased, and fully burnished to a glossy shine.
