Structured Ostrich Leather Tote (Sharing a recent build)

Hey everyone, just wanted to share some photos of a project I recently finished. There’s something special about how this violet ostrich skin comes together in a structured design—the texture really stands out in person.

It’s a fully hand-stitched piece, built to be a reliable, everyday companion. Inside, it’s lined with soft goat leather and has two pockets, one of which features a zipper to keep your essentials secure. I’m quite happy with how the lines and the violet finish turned out on this one.

Just wanted to share the results—happy to chat if you have any questions about the bag!

Commission request

I’ve had a design idea in my mind for quite a while and I’m wondering if someone here might be interested in helping me make it real.

It’s a minimalist document envelope inspired by classic paper envelopes, but reinterpreted in leather. The idea is a clean, simple piece for carrying documents, sketches, or even a tablet.

I’m not an expert in leatherwork, so I’m very open to suggestions—especially regarding material choice, construction methods, and what would be realistically possible in terms of production.

Happy to share the concept board and discuss details. Any feedback or interest would be really appreciated.

Just finished this classic crossbody bag with a zippered back pocket. Tried both a magnetic snap AND a bag lock this time.

I made this bag using chrome-tanned semi-vegetable tanned leather.

Finished Bag Size: 23 x 19 x 7 cm (approx. 9.0" x 7.5" x 2.7" inches)

First Post - Ballglove Goods

Hello leather friends. I’ve been handcrafting leather goods for about 7 years.

This particular wallet was hand cut from a Rawlings RBG70 baseball glove that carried the facsimile autograph of Royals Hall of Famer and Cy Young Award Winner Bret Saberhagen. It has a billfold and two pockets for multiple cards. All hand-stitched. Price : $125

I also do custom orders. Thanks for looking!

I Just Finished This Custom Himalaya Niloticus Bifold Wallet

I recently completed this custom bifold wallet for a client.

The exterior is crafted from Himalaya Niloticus crocodile leather, which has always been my favorite leather for a Himalaya finish. The subtle color transitions and natural scale pattern give it a very elegant and sophisticated character.

For the interior, the customer chose Beige Alran Sully goatskin from France.

This design was originally created for one of my loyal customers. It measures 11.5 × 8.7 cm and includes 6 card slots, 2 hidden pockets, and 1 bill compartment in a compact, everyday-friendly layout.

Like all of my work, this wallet is made entirely by hand. I stitched it using 0.45 mm Meisi linen thread with 4 mm stitch spacing. Customers can personalize the leather, thread color, and edge paint to create a wallet that suits their own style.

The Himalaya Niloticus + Alran Sully version is currently available on my website for $360 USD.

Every wallet is made to order rather than kept in stock. If you'd like one, feel free to send me a message to discuss customization options, production time, and shipping estimates.

Does anyone have any recommendations for leatherworkers in the US who will make sheaths for other makers?

I have about 30 of the same knife that I need sheaths for and am looking for a maker to design and build sheaths. I am also open to suggestions for other styles and materials of sheaths too. Unfortunately I don't think my knife design is particularly good for kydex, so I think leather will be the best bet.

I am interested in neck-knife sheaths as well as belt sheaths as well.

Thanks

Quality Cardholder Recommendations?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy a quality cardholder that can hold at least five cards.

I'd like one with a flap or some other type of closure so the cards aren't exposed when I toss it into my bag, as I don't want them getting damaged or dirty. I also prefer a cardholder that isn't too small, so it's less likely to get lost, and one that isn't so tight that thicker cards are difficult to fit in.

I have a healthy budget, and I prefer dark colours such as navy blue, black, or dark brown.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I live in London so please recommend card holders that can be bought from the UK.

Completed commission

My recent completed commission: The Vault and a Front Pocket Wallet.

Both are handcrafted from brown and olive Pueblo leather and hand-stitched with Ritza Tiger Havana Cigar thread.

The client wanted two options: one compact wallet for everyday carry and another with a higher capacity to hold multiple cards and cash.

Looking for someone comfortable working with exotic leather in or near London, UK

Title pretty much says it all

I restore vintage leather goods as a hobby and recently bought a box of what I thought was generic leather for repairs and patching up from an antique market. Turns out there was a healthy amount of vintage exotic leather in there - shark, iguana, maybe even some crocodile. Beyond owning a few exotic leather bags I have no experience in working with these 😅

Thought came to me is that I could at least commission some items for myself. I’ve not decided exactly on what I’d like atm but I would like to know if there’s anyone here or any recommendations of places that would be comfortable with working with exotic leather that I provide... hence me asking about local leather workers

Disclaimer - From what I’ve been able to find online, and the way I came to have these, this is mostly old dead stock from a company that closed down and I wasn’t provided any CITES documentation so I can’t sell them and I think I would have to take back any scraps? I have receipts for the purchase and at least one of the skins still has the original maker’s stamp but if I’m wrong on this please let me know and I guess the box will go live in the attic or something

Looking for a cardholder

I would like a durable black alligator or crocodile double-sided card holder with money pocket and thick red light blue stitch. Possibly for commission. If you have anything in your stores please send me a link. Thanks
