Hey everyone. I’m selling this vertical bifold made out of Olmo and Oliva Pueblo. I’m not sure what was happening when I did the stitching, must’ve been an off day but it’s a bit wonky. Because of that, I’m hoping to sell it for $100CAD plus shipping instead of the $175 that I would normally charge for this type of wallet. What started out as a birthday gift turned into something I genuinely enjoy making so here are a couple baseballs wrapped in Pueblo vegetable tanned leather. I used Oliva and Nazionale for one and Coccinella for the other. Thanks for looking!

Before I start, yes I know I screwed up a stitch 😅. My thread got tangled when I was trying to finish the last stitch. Thankfully it’s a gift for my nephew. I wanted to try my hand making a baseball and they’re seriously a challenge. I tried cutting the template by hand but getting both halves identical with all the holes in the same spot is at least for me, nearly impossible. I wound up using a local Makerspace and laser cutting out each part. All in all it took 3 minutes to cut both parts but about 1 and a half hours to stitch! The trick to getting it tight was just going through 2-3 times and cinching the thread and eventually they will stretch together. This is 4-5oz Buttero around an MLB Rawlings core and all in all, I’m really happy with it. Thanks for looking!

Hey all! This is a wallet I made for the DSLeather challenge he recently just finished hosting. The goal was to use his Dory wallet and make one as part of the “beginners” category. You had to have been making leather goods for less than 6 months. When I heard the name Dory I wanted to make something Ocean inspired to I designed and hand stitched this pattern around the border to look like a wave. It’s made using Navy Blue Pueblo, brown Buttero and Dollaro for the outside. Thanks for looking!

Something a bit more tame than normal. This is my card holder design, I call it the Illusion because when trying to make a card holder that felt more ergonomic for me to use, I wound up shifting the centreline in my head. Thanks for looking!

So, my two best performing posts are my ghost leather wallet and my wave stitching wallet so I figured why not make a wave in ghost. I wanted to find out two things from it.

a) how long would it take to make a wave from start to finish if I marathon it.
b) would this look good?

To answer my questions

a) 5 hours. I started at 5pm and finished at 10. I’ll chalk some up to letting glue dry but with the additional time of marking and punching every hole I imagine that took ~an hour and a half
b) I not sure how I feel about it. I personally think it has potential to look really cool as the wax wears off and reveals the wave pattern. Right now it’s hidden because it’s black thread but I’d imagine in a month or two the wax would wear off revealing the pattern underneath.

First things first, ignore the leather and thread colour choice please. It was in my scraps because I wanted to test. Personally, I like the pattern because it’s pretty darn simple to follow but still gives enough visual intrigue but I’d love to know what everyone thinks!

Okay so my wallet post the other day with the wave stitching did WAY better than I could’ve ever expected, thank you to everyone for the kind words and encouragement. It means a lot to me. I also had a handful of people asking if I could demonstrate how I went about designing and ultimately making the wallet so I came up with this. I’m not a cardholder guy, I find them to be difficult to use and ultimately enjoy the motion of opening my wallet and finding my card/cash. However, I thought it would be a good beginner project because it’s one continuous line of stitching (or 2 if you stop in the middle) that makes use of 3 continue lines of 3.5mm stitching without having to punch each end every hole individually like my last wallet. I’m working on a hopefully useful tutorial video as well as template that I can upload for those interested to give a shot. As always, thanks for looking!

This is my take on his Dory pattern. The name instantly reminded me of my childhood and watching finding nemo on loop so I wanted to make an ocean inspired design, with that in mind I tried to make a stitching pattern that looked like a wave. I hope you enjoy!

Hey everyone! Levi's put their 1953 type ii selvedge jacket on sale for 50% off and I'm hoping to get some help with sizing. I tried on the 42 and it fits like a glove, the 44 feels incredibly boxy. I bought both with the idea to return one but just want some advice. I'm worried that if the 42 shrinks at all then I'm screwed but also worried that the 44 won't shrink properly to fit like the 42. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I’ve never been a fan of flat card holders so when I saw a folding one, I really liked it. However, I wants to modify it before offering it so that way it was “mine”. I love when pattern makers allow you to sell their patterns, especially when beginning but I wanted to tweak it. My solution? The wave pocket. A lot of people liked it on my vertical so I thought I’d try it here. I personally love how it turned out, sort of an optical illusion where you think the fold line is off centre until you go to actually use it. Thanks for looking!

Hey everybody! Showcased here is the Conceria La Bretagna Ghost Paglia wallet that I made for myself a month ago. This is to show how it’s aged. I’ve carried it exclusively, not every day but most. Hey everyone! I posted this wallet 1 month ago to the day. When I posted, I had folks ask me to update them with how it’s patinad so here it is! For context, I like to carry my wallet in my back pocket by itself. There has been times where it was mixed with other items or in my front so that might’ve sped up the process. Overall I love how it looks. Also, that weird texture on the front of the wallet in a small spot was a result of me stamping my logo and the punch pad I used underneath imprinted on the leather. That is NOT normal for ghost leather, my mistake. Thanks for looking!

Hey everyone! I just made my first half of my first strap and I’m hoping to get some advice. This is made with 2/3 oz Italian veg tan leather for the top, 1oz goat skin for the liner and .4mm salamander reinforcement for inside. I made it using the shown templates. I made sure to mark my center lines so that my reinforcement material was straight. It has about a 3.5mm gap around the edges so it wouldn’t impede with stitching or show on the outside since I didn’t use edge paint yet. I ran into the following issues.

Symmetry: It doesn’t exactly look symmetrical anymore, almost has a slight curve. It was straight after glue up but it seemed to curve after stitching. I also noticed my stitching wasn’t symmetrical despite starting from the bottom centre hole and working my way up either side.

Flimsy: it feels a bit flimsy despite using the .4mm salamander reinforcement and the veg tan leather.

Any advice would be really appreciated before I start the buckle side. Thank you in advance!
