Missing IUD strings

Hi! So I went yesterday 6/30 to my first ever annual pap-smear (F21). My doctor did my pelvic exam and explained that she couldn’t locate my IUD strings. She did my pap-smear, had me move around, pushed on my belly and rechecked for them but couldn’t feel them anywhere. She reassured me that they’re probably just curled up into my cervix, and to use another form of birth control until she can confirm it’s in place. However they didn’t schedule an ultrasound to locate my IUD until the end of next month 7/30. Should I be more concerned about the location of my IUD? I had it inserted at my six week checkup after having my son this past September, he’s my first child. I’ve heard that it’s unlikely but IUD’s can migrate and that just seems like something they would want to schedule with more urgency. I also explained to my doctor that I’ve been having random heavy bleeding and cramps but previously when I had my first IUD before my pregnancy, I never bled. She assured me that every IUD can be different, which makes sense. I’m just worried that it might be related to me not being able to find my strings. I guess my question is should I be trying to find another appointment or is it completely reasonable to wait that long? I understand that the office can be very busy.
