Did IRS appeal the arbitration?

I know a lot of folks are asking “what’s next” but I just want to know simply did they appeal the arbitration or not yet. Do they have literally until 11:59 pm est tonight to do so?

Depression

Can I get some tips on what you guys are doing to battle depression with everything that is going on with work? I’m trying so hard but with this administration, RTO, re-org, management, workload, and everything else it’s so hard. I’m literally having dreams about work and trying to find another job just to avoid going to work because I dread having to wake up and head into the office after the weekends.
I’ve never felt this way about any job before and it’s so freaking depressing. I’m trying to be optimistic, go outside, spend time with family but it’s really hard. Before the current admin came into office I really enjoyed my job…should have known we were going down a creak without a paddle when those 5 things we did that week email started.

Detail questions

If I wanted to do a detail at a different agency that was the same grade or a grade higher - could my current management deny me the detail? I’m in great standing and nothing to block me but I wanted to know if it could be denied….i know they can’t deny a promotion detail internally but not sure how it works if you do detail at another agency.

Also, how does the POD stuff work? Do you go to a different building altogether? Work remote for the detail?

What if you have participated in the student loan program and your 3 years aren’t up?

Wanting to transfer to different agency

I work at the IRS and I’m really miserable in my position. I’m doing 3-4 people’s job since the reorganization and management bluntly told me they don’t care.

If I wanted to look to apply to a different agency as an IRS employee what should I look for? I work in IT as a GS-12.

Crappy Manager

How do you deal with a manager who’s so absent from your work life but only comes when they need answers and want something done?

My manager doesn’t even take the time to read messages that are sent to them or respond when assistance is needed for a request THEY made.

They also don’t document anything via email and is so rude half of the time when they do speak to you.

They talk so much crap about upper management and other team members on individual calls too.

Probably the worst manager I’ve had here so far…

I’m tired and annoyed

Why are we hiring people who don’t know how to simply read a basic email and respond to what is requested? Why are we hiring people who don’t know how to use proper grammar in a simple sentence?

I’m not talking about people in low GS scales either. I’ll talking about 13s,14s….IRs even. Executives.

Why is it so hard for someone to read and understand a simple line of words??? In our line of work???

This is so frustrating especially when it’s your own manager too.

Tired.

Overworked.
Under appreciated.
No help.
Team members are saying they will “help” but then when you ask them for help they are nowhere to be found.
Micromanagement.
New team without official notice - just a “meeting”.
Meetings everyday - all day. Work piling up.
2+ hour commute.
No union.
No telework.
No raise.
$4.50 gallon gas.
New virus on the horizon?
All hands that tell us nothing - shoving AI down our throats.
The job market is horrible in the private sector.
I thought 2025 was really bad..and to be fair it was. This year…it’s just really tough mentally on us all.

For those of you who have been with the government for a very long time…some even 40+ years. How did you do it? I’m struggling and it’s only year 3.

We have an all hands meeting coming up within IT tomorrow with our executive/director and the meeting was sent out to over 300 people to attend. Our manager told us today that the exec is expecting us to get on camera in this meeting…all 300 of us.

Am I missing something here? Can they force you to get on camera?
