Why do older people often drive around with their blinkers on?

When I was younger, I didn't do this. Now that I'm getting older, the cliche often applies to me. Is this just a clche (i.e., all ages do it) or is it a stereotype grounded in reality? If it is real, why does it happen?

BGE Time of Use versus Flat Rate

My spouse and I are both retired and are at home all day. We currently have the BGE time of use plan, that we probably signed up for years ago when nobody was home during the day. I was wondering if we would be better off with the flat rate since we only save about five dollars a month at most (if my calculations are correct) and we could do laundry and run appliances whenever we wanted (such as laundry during the day. I was wondering if others had thoughts on time of use versus flat rate.

Edited to add: I was able to find a site on my dashboard that did an analysis of our use. The Standard Residential (i.e.; flat) rate would actually save us money. This is a no brainer.
